no IDW GB comics in the UK

I'm not 100% sure what the current GB comic series is, I get a bit lost with all the mini-series, but I went down to my comic shop where I have a standing order for all GB comics, and was told that they can't stock them due to licensing issues.
We got the last series wihtout any problems, but according th the store, there is a new UK GB comic planned, and in those circumstacnes, the licence to sell the American comics has apparenlty been pulled.

I'm nnot exactly happy about this. In the 80's the Uk RGB comics were rather infantile, wheras the NOW comics were much better, and we could thankfully get them at the time.

Currently we have aproblem with a terrible kiddifed Transformers comic, but at least we can get the IDW series as well, although it's suffered a lot in the wake of All Hail Megatron.

So why aren't we allowed to read the new GB comics?:-(

Considering there's presently been nothing official stating as such, I'm of the mind your comic guy is pulling that claim out of his arse.

The first issue is due out in September, so we should know pretty quickly whether or not the comic will make it over here.

But the thing that doesn't make any sense is, as the comic isn't published in the UK, why would there be some legal thing crop up that would prevent it from being imported?

It's not the first time it's happened. The DreamWave Transformers comics we'rent available here for a long time. Licensing issues stop imports of foreign version of titles coming in, so that the domestic versions can be sold.
Kind of along the lines of what happens with DVDs, where they slap on region codes to try to stop people doing it.
Apparently, yhe GB comic is in the same situation, unless he's wrong.

What's the current series called?

It's called “Displaced Aggression”.

I'd try get a second opinion before I take his word as gospel.

Doesn't seem to be a problem though, I was in a comic shop in Newcastle last week and they had the first part of Doctor Who: Silver Scream and Doctor Who: Room with a Deja Vu.

I live in Australia, but from what I've been told, the problem lies with Diamond – although it MAY have something to do with the license as well. It shouldn't though, as we got both “Legion” and “The Other Side” without problem, but surprisingly, we have the same problem with “Displaced Agression”.

I believe Dr. Who may have something to do with the licensing agreement. When I was writing the TMNT comics for Titan in the UK, they were only available in the UK at the time because of the licensing agreement between Mirage and Titan. However, since then, those comics I wrote and had published back in 2006/2007 are starting to see print in magazines here in Australia.

Back to the problem at hand though, we ran into the same problem with Boom!'s Disney titles. My LCS had to go through a secondary retailer in the States to get my Muppet Show comic books, and they only JUST came in three weeks ago.
