I was just thinking the other day, with the Sony company owing a huge stake in Columbia Pictures why is there no PSP release planed?

Do you think that Sierra is waiting to see how the bigger console versions sell and then make one or did they said something like "Well it's going to be on almost every other system out there so maybe there is no need for a PSP version.

Actually, last we heard, there were considering a PSP version - the idea being that once you've made it for the PS2, you're not that far away from the PSP anyhow.

However, it's still “under consideration”, with no word one way or another yet.

Well the way I understand it, The DS Ghostbusters game is unique to the DS, what with the touch screen and all.

If they were going to do one for the PSP it would most likely be a scaled down version the WiiS2 version. It would be a pain in the ass for them (or whoever they would get to do it for them) and lets be honest, in all likelihood it would suck.

Add to that the PSP hasn't had nearly as much widespread success as the DS, and I just don't see it being worth the time and effort really.

The PS2 and PSP are comparable machines - not identical, by any stretch, but similar enough that it's not the hardest port in the world to undertake. If a team has optimized a build for the PS2, it's not that much further to have it optimized for the PSP.

If there wasn't a WiiS2 version in production, it wouldn't be worth it. With a user base of 14 million PSPs out there, porting is totally worth it. That puts it en par with the 360 and PS3, and they're a bigger budget commitment.

So, as I said, “under consideration”.

A PSP version will emerge soon, I can feel it.

I've heard there's one in the works, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least.
