I am about to build a 2nd proton pack because my first was a disaster smile and i am using Norms most recent plans. I was wonderind if i should get all the materials listed by him or should i use some different things. Thanks.

It really depends on what you want, how much you have to spend, how skilled you are with different tools, and what tools you have available. I built the majority of my pack out of wood, so that it would be able to take some abuse, mostly screwed together so I could go back and add things like light and sound systems. This however takes some skill and lots of woodworking tools. It also means the pack is rather heavy. Making a pack out of sheets of styrene plastic, as in Norm's plans, would require fewer tools, still require some skill with an x-acto, and be fairly lightweight. I don't think it will be a durable though. The final choice will be yours, but I hope this helps you to make a more informed decision.

Norm listed a lot of substitutions for actual parts used on the pack in his supplies list. You might try looking for actual, more accurate parts. Also try buying the supplies as you go, this will help you save money. Otherwise I would go with what Norm has listed, it saves you a lot of money.
