Nothing today lasts. Think about Pokemon, Digimon, any of those stupid things. Or stuff like Spiderman which was cool but only ended up lasting a few years and didnt get big, or some of the stuff on the WB which was cool but now has been dropped to have shows like Jackie Chan stunt guy or something like that and crappy Japanimation reminiscent of the Pokemon Cartoon. Arghh I feel robbed as well. Oh well at least even though its not a big franchise there is Recess. Thats a great cartoon.

i think its we just appreciate good quality shows. I loved EGB,TNMNT, and G.I. Joe when i was little and still do a little today but there is two good cartoon shows on the air, Simpsons and Family Guy which is my favorite show. And if you still think you're old you can use the Politically Correct term “recent-birth-challenged” I dont know why PC still lives but im not going to rant this isnt a political forum.(ill keep those rants on them.)

It would be sweet if ABC could play the old RGB episodes on saturday mornings again but they sold the rights to a (shudder) cable tv channel ie Fox Family, so it doesn't have near the reach as it would on network TV.

The only cartoons I watch nowadays are Spider-Man, Batman, Justice League, the classic Disney cartoons, the classic Looney Tunes, and the other classic cartoons that are still on the air. The only new toons I watch are Spider-Man, Batman, and Justice League, and still, those 3 are actually remakes in a sense. The good cartoons are the older cartoons for crying out loud! I remember watching Real Ghostbusters, Popeye, Garfield & Friends, Filmation Ghostbusters, The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. I still hate myself for missing Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, & Captain N & the Game Masters. Even the dumb Mega Man cartoon was better than some of the stupid toons on now. I don't think they even make the new Spider-Man cartoons anymore either.

After typing this, I just remembered another old cartoon. Does anyone else remember the Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue? It had Garfield, Slimer, Bugs, the Chipmunks, and so many other classic 80 toons. It was about drug prevention. I still remember the poster hanging up in Elementary School.

I have that drug prevention thing on tape.

The reason for sh*tty cartoons these days is thanks to our legislators. When that bill passed in the early 90s about cartoons having “educational value,” cartoons, as we knew them, went right down the sh*tter. There is no more Saturday morning cartoons. Why do you think that Cartoon Network and Boomerang were created? The demand for the older cartoons, far better than anything offered today, was far too great.

In other words, f*ck Congress and f*ck censorship! (Even though I'm censoring myself out of respect for fellow Ghostheads.)

i more than agree on the issue of F*CKING censorship. I also agree with the FACT that we had it better as kids, we also had Transformers. Better toys too. America really overdoes censorship to a hypocritical level

Oh my GOD…I feel like an old man when I say “I just dont get cartoons today”…I'm 22 and about to have my first baby…and I'm pissed about how crappy cartoons are these days. Sure…we were lucky with TMNT, GB, Thundercats, He-man..etc. And I know that as much as I'll show these cartoons to my child, they won't REALLY get it, because it's not cool today. VERY depressing.
