Actually I'm staying up a bit longer so I can post these tonight. Who is in charge of this forum? Do they usually allow scans of magazines?

EDIT - Well I just checked the rules of the forum and the sticky threads and didn't see anything saying you couldn't post scans and I think this info is totally worth the risk for all us GB fans!!!

I'm in love with this game already… :-) Seriously, I think I'm one of, if not the happiest guy on the face of the Earth right now.

Its rather interesting that they are contemplating actually calling it Ghostbusters 3 as the official title.

I'm going to have to get 2 versions, then.

I like the realistic look of the 360, but the Wii version's multi-player sounds fun. At least they're keeping the story from the 360/PS3 versions, which I was starting to worry about.

Okay, skanker. I admit I was skeptical at first. I hadn't really heard of you guys and all that jazz.

But after reading the GI article, holy crap! How long have you guys been working on this thing? It's so far along, and that we have to wait until next fall is great to hear, it means the product should be very polished by its release. At least, it better be! :-@

But back to the article: everything seems so damned incredible, I swear I'm dreaming. You guys are actually delivering the game of every GB fan's dreams. I was initially unhappy with the overly-cartoony look for the Wii version (I was hoping for something like The Real Ghostbusters, myself), but knowing that the focus will be far more on multiplayer, I'm more than satisfied to take that trade-off.

Hell, with how beautifull the graphics are on the 360 version, I'm buying the 360 version just for Ghostbusters!

Kudos, and thank you all for your very hard work. Here's to at least another two GB games!

Thinking about how I and many others feel, you really know what comes to mind?

Ray's first time checking out the Firehouse.

Reading things in the article, I kind of get a Real Ghostbusters vibe from the guys' dialogue.

His website offers some believability. (*winston) To me it did anyway. With the Terminal Reality info.

http://www.skankerzero.com/

I can see some people can be suspicious as we've had people coming on pretending to be Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd before but this claim doesn't seem quite that outrageous. Especially with the website. (*peter) Just a thought. We've had Sebastien and the other guys come on here as well as I think Michael Gross(or was it Medjuck?) It's not too farfetched they might want to get some kind of fan connection/interaction.

It was Producer Michael Gross, I know because I was one of the people who questioned his authenticity until we were shown proof. :p

Ecto 1 is back, it looks like the one from GB2, with the yellow/black warning stripes, but with less crap on top and it's using the original logo, not the GB2 logo.

- Release is for October 2008.
- You play as the 5th member of the team
- It takes place in 1991 and the city has agreed to fund you but they hire Peck to watch over you to make sure you're not just pulling their strings.
- After you are hired, a new evil hits New York and ghosts start appearing everywhere
- The first mission is to hunt down Slimer in the hotel from the 1st movie, it trains you how to use the proton pack and trap.
- While you play, you hear chatter from the other 4 members over your radio or in person when they're around you.
- The environments are destructible, but don't worry about bill as now that you're funded by the city, they cover the damage.
- You press the d-pad to deploy the trap
- There are different proton beams you can use and some of them act like a fishing mechanic, a pull and tug lasso effect.
- Terminal Reality has developed their own engine to handle the physics, they showed off a demo where they dropped hundreds of ragdoll bodies, boxes, and cars and they all reacted perfectly with no framerate hits.
- They will be able to simulate up to 1,000 objects at once with no framerate hit.
- The entire demo was done on the PS3 to show that they're not having trouble developing for it.
- There is a Slime Gun that shoots out a trail of green slime and you can anchor things to each end of the strand, you can tether ghosts to walls using this for easier trapping.
- One of the levels takes you back to the library from GB1 to re-visit that librarian ghost, or as Ray refers to it as, “the one that got away”.
- The Elmer Bernstein score is in tact and while no other songs were confirmed, they have to imagine Ray Parker Jr's song will be included.
- Your AI teammates will perform all sorts of actions without you having to tell them and they can save you by shooting ghosts and deploying traps.
- They said they wanted to keep you as a 5th member of the team so you can hear all the interaction between the other 4 guys with the dialog that Akyroyd and Ramis are writing.
- They want the game to be, “fun, funny, or scary” at all times. In an average hallway, for example, ghosts could smash through a window, pop out from behind a vending machine, or come down from the ceiling.
- Your main hub is of course the Firehouse and you're free to walk around and talk to Janine, play with Egon's new gadgets, perform scientific experiments, etc. And YES you can slide down the firepole!!!!
- The Stay Puft battle is actually EARLY in the game as there's a big reveal bigger evil at play.

Oh, there's a voice in me saying I shouldn't get too excited as we've been disappointed before… but I just can't help myself, it sounds like a pretty solid game premise, and I look forward to being able to walk around a fully 3D recreation of Hook and Ladder 8, serving as Ghostbusters H.Q.

I'd figured the shots of the Libary weren't just a rehash of the Library bust given that Ecto-1 was visible, and they weren't even Ghostbusters back then. I'm looking forward to this… and with a release date of October, it makes you wonder if they'll try release it the same time of year Flagship Studios released Hellgate London, for Halloween. (^_^)

Keep us up to date on things when you can guys, thanks for stopping by.

Wingfan… many thanks for posting those scans… there is much material to drool over, especially all that concept stuff. I love that picture of a ghost ship crashed above the New York Stock Exchange. I also quite like how Ecto-1 is set to appear, featuring the commercial graphics of Ecto-1A, but with a more streamlined ‘classic’ roof rack equipment which was just so much more believable. And that picture of Ray Stantz… Wow. :-)

What sort of material are you after? I assume you'd be looking to take someone on into official employment? Or would someone in a student position be as acceptable?

From what little we can see, the character looks a little generic (still early in development though), so hopefully that means character customization… (that's right, I'm plugging it into overdrive on that tidbit/suggestion/hope lol)

Just so you can tell everyone else working on the game Jesse (if I may call you that), I'm sure I speak for everyone when we say that we wish you all the best in development and hope to have a great game in the future.

No, he's totally legit. He's a friend of mine. I've worked with him before, and he's totally on the level (and a cool artist to boot).

I'm just jazzed that he got involved with such a cool project.

Is Louis Tully or Dr. Janosz Poha going to make an appearance?

:p

I think the Louis question is a very good one. What with word that Moranis may have passed on the project, would that mean the character is cut-out, only referenced or voiced by a sound alike. Same with Dana. Guess we'll find out.

As for Janosz, I doubt it, but I'm always hopeful for GB2 characters (after all Brian Doyle Murray is your psychiatrist in this lol) and what with the part in the article that says not only does the problem bring forth new ghosts, but also old rivals, well… we all get the idea.

What I really think would be nice is a tribute to the people who worked on the movie that have passed on. Which is why I'm really glad the original GB score is in place. Maybe an “in memory of” in the credits.
