I'm not sure where the whole ‘Scoleri Brothers’ thing started.

Some article said we would bust old well known foes thus I assume everybody thought about them as they're the iconic ghostbusting scene in GB II…

True, although at the same time it doesn't really make sense for them to be back (story-wise) as they should be locked away safely in the containment unit.

As far as I can tell, PSW Magazine- “All the significant ghosts will be making a return, such as the two brothers who were prisoners.” -executive producer John Melchior (Sierra).

Such an old article though.
