So if the game is canon (YAY!) does that mean “Return of the Ghostbusters” is canon? I mean, there is a crayon drawing hanging on the wall in one part of the game that says “To Uncle Egon, from Ed.”

If that Ed thing is REALLY in the game.

I'm going to die laughing.

Denver GBs FTW!

The original guys are all back right? Cannon to me.

I dont consider the last two Terminator movies cannon or much of anything, but if James Cameron was directly connected like Dan and Harold, then I'd have to consider it cannon anyway.

The 3rd movie was written by James Cameron . Think he consulted on the 4th as well but not sure

It's there all right. All you need to do is watch the “First 12 minutes” video released a few days ago.

The story and screenplay for T3 was actually written by 3 different people.
James Cameron is given a character creation credit.
Another example is Dan and Harold listed in the series writing credits for Real and Extreme Ghostbusters.
We know damn well they didn't have a hand in any of those episodes but the characters and concepts are all theirs.

I had no idea Cameron wrote T3.

Canon is always going to be a subject that not everyone can agree on because different people will see different things as canon. I try not to get too hung up on canon because I feel like it limits my thoughts. To some, Ghostbusters & Ghostbusters 2 stand in their own canon while The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters stand in their own as well. But Fritz over at Ectozone with help from others have managed to combine the best of those two worlds into one logical timeline. I think that instead of getting too wrapped up in the aspect of canon we should focus on what we know the game is for sure. A new adventure in the world that we all know and love with all the original talent and the most true ghostbusting experience we are ever likely to have. I don't care if it's canon or not, June 16th I'm strapping on my Proton Pack and I'm gonna' save Manhattan with my boys all the way from here in Miami, Florida. Power to the fans! … sorry … got a little carried away. =P

I consider all the Terminator movies canon just existing in 5 different timelines due to time travel aspect mucking things up:
Pre T1
T1 timeline
T2 timeline
And
T3 / T4 timeline

And off on left field is the SCC timeline

Actually, it says right in the article:

The game was written by the guys at TR but it received it's “Polish” (as Aykroyd has stated himself) from them.

I know it's the New York times, but I admit I'm partially given reason to not buy into the sudden revelation that Dan didn't write the script (which is so far contrary to all we've heard and seen) because it hasn't been confirmed by anyone else…

Maybe it's denial, but I don't like the idea that Dan and Harold would play along like that, taking credit for a script they only had a small part in.

In every interview with Dan I've seen he said that he and Harold got a draft from TR and went back and forth adding polish and he considers it GB3 for the moment. I don't think his story has changed once.

That reminds me, I had a look, and nope, looks like they haven't gotten icons for some of the achievements yet, if they are at all.
