From what I've seen, the streams didn't actually cross all the way, and according to the description on how to get that certain achievement, it wasn't an all-that-official “cross the streams” moment.
Of course, this is all from observation and my own personal thoughts.

It could be the fact that there are less than four streams crossing so the outcome of it is significantly lesser.

I think it's more that the entire universe exploding every three minutes or so would make for a pretty frustrating game.

It would have been the WORST LUCK EVER!
If TR got destroyed by a hurricane preventing the release of the ghostbusters game.
Although, if that did happen. The march of the Ghostheads might begin, so there's high/lows.
In other news: North Carolina and my hometown got hit with a rather nasty thunderstorm. Fairly high winds, and lightning that started a fire somewhere in town.
Needless to say: I'm ok.

I thought I read that you could only officially cross the streams in multiplayer unless they changed it at the last moment.
