Okay, I've just baught the Playstation 3 version of the game, played it for about an hour and here are my first impressions.

Characters looks top notch but many of the textures are horrible. Some more akin to Playstation 2 than Playstation 3.

Smooth, this game isn't! The framrate is very poor, even when slowly looking around the empty hotel ballroom I found it to be jittery. This together with the poor textures is striking. Very disappointing. Terminal Reality have had ample time to get these basic things right!!

The proton gun feels as though it lacks power. It feels kind of weak. This is probably due to the fact that the ps3 controller does not have a rumble function built into it. The stream looks and sounds right, it just doesn't feel right.

The music, voice acting and proton streams sound great.

The running function does not look or feel right. It's either all or nothing. There doesn't seem to be any gradual speed up or slow down. It's either walk or sprint. The way the characters run does not look right either. They are wearing heavy equipment and are not exactly what you would call fit. When running they look as though they have taken some kind of super pill. The speed that they run at and the running animation seem more like something out of gears of war. It just doesn't suit the game at all.

I may be completely wrong because I've only played it for an hour or so but the combat plays pretty poor to be quite honest. Ghosts seems to just fly at you from anywhere before you get a chance to even see where they are and I've been getting knocked down an awful lot which is a little frustrating. When you have two or three ghosts in one room the gameplay doesn't seem fair because when trying to aim at and concentrate your efforts on one ghost another ghost can just come out of knowhere and knock you down. I have also fpound it a little annoying at times when the other ghostbusters capture ghosts that I would have liked to capture myself. I'm also a little unsure about the overheating aspect but I need to play it more.

So far I must say that I'm a little disappointed with the game to say the least. Hopefully it will grow on me.

I checked last night and the demo still wasn't up. I baught it anyway.

Personally I'd advise people to rent this first.

Want to touch on this a little.

I really think that this is a problem that could have been easily fixed.

If you take the proton stream and make out a 16X16ish square with ALL the scorch marks side my side this is very apparent.

You can't tell me that you couldn't make a second smoldering texture. Can you?

I have a question. Are the Wii and PS2 versions the same game as the PS3/XBox 360 versions, just with more cartoonish graphics? Same levels, voice acting etc etc.

Just wondering if I should buy the PS2 version to hold me over until I get my XBox 360.

They are VERY similar but not identical. Some things are missing, while others are added in eaqch versions.. the wii version is much shorter I think though. (Haven't completed it yet, but I;m judging by what I've played so far.)

I've played on it some more and I have to say that this game is just terrible. There's no other word for it. It seems as though Terminal Reality got so wrapped up in trying to create an authentic Ghostbusters product that they completely forgot about making a good game. As a fan of Ghostbusters I'm as big as they come but the gameplay here is so poor that I'm just not enjoying playing this game at all. The characters are spot on, the dialogue is good, the story's there, the music's great and really adds to the game but even all of this isn't enough to save it. Another thing I've noticed…there isn't even a quick turn button. There are areas in this game where you have enemies in front and behind you, they come at you from all angles. A quick turn button is absolutely necessary in a game like this.

I don't know why. Seems to me they're looking at the game through rose tinted glasses because the gameplay has so many faults its unbelievable.

It has its faults but what game doesn't? I absolutely love the game play…granted the quit turn was a disappointment but it's a small gameplay oversight. I personally do not know what your talking about on the gameplay…the game play is practically spot on. I think they spent the most amount of time developing the game where it counts in order to craft the perfect Ghostbusters experience in comparison to other attempts.

I am on my 6th playthrough and it isn't getting old.
