Hey there GB fans, it´s been a long while since i last posted here (a handful of years i guess). But now i´m back with a new register and i hope to keep discussing GB matters with all of you guys.
About GB:TVG, i´d like to share a personal experience i had with it.
When i first saw the minimum requirements for the PC version, i got pretty sad since my machine wasn´t strong enough for running it. Y´know, i´m a brazilian fella and as you probably know, our PC hardware costs at least twice what the cost to you, my north-american and european friends.
So, upgrading my PC was completely outta question.
BUT, since i´m a pretty stubborn guy, i´ve decided to try the game anyway. And for my surprise, IT WORKED! Of course, i had to turn almost everything off or low and use the 640x480 resolution. It´s far from the optimum graphics but it runs almost smoothly, enough for this old GB fan to bust some ghosts and have the greatest GB experience that everyone was talking about.
By the way, these are my PC configuration:
Pentium D 915+ 2.80 Ghz 800Mhz FSB 4MB Cache
MB Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L
1,5 GB Ram Corsair Value Select, DDR2, 533Mhz
NVidia GeForce 8600GT 512MB DDR2
HD 80GB Maxtor Sata 2
As you can see, it´s a very average PC, with an old processor, an average video board and a low amount of a slow RAM memory.
And that´s what i wanted to share: if you guys have an older PC, try it on! I know i guy that make the game work even better than me using a Pentium 4 3.20 Mhz with HyperThread. So go for it!
