I'm lost about the story elements of the game. Why are you or the character you play, seems to be playing moments from the first movie? Like why? Why must we go through some old scenes stuff, is it a training moment for when you start the game?

A direct quote from the GameInformer article:
“Shortly after you're hired, an ancient evil envelops the city, causing a massive surge in ghost activity. The Ghostbusters must get to the bottom of what's going on before the city is literally torn apart. This spirit surge not only prompts a wave of entirely new ghosts, but a few old rivals as well.”

As near as I can tell, it stirs up some older ghosts when this new thing arrives, probably as a bit of fan service. And yes, the Slimer confrontation is part of a training thing. It's the first time you use your pack.

*Well so did “Extreme Ghostbusters”, which was set in 1997 , and they still used the “classic” door design. …And don't give me that “EGB doesn't count as it was a cartoon” mess either - It IS “canon” to the storyline…

I'm sure in the RGB/EGB continuity, the RGBs never used the GB2 logo or had the Ecto-1A design. Besides, EGB is canon to the RGB continuity, not the films.

A proton gun attatchement for the wii remote would be great.

For anyone who's seen the gun attatchment you'll know what i mean.

just make one moulded into the shape of a proton gun using black plastic.

firing the gun using this attatchment rather than just using the wii remote on its own would feel far more authentic.

these attatchments can be made at a low cost as the technology is already in the remote itself. this could be a great, fun peripheral for wii users and i think that viivendi should seriously look into it.

My only problem with the Wii version's graphics is that it's too damn caricatured. I would have prefurred cartoony in the style of RGB/EGB. Not a Pixar movie.

But the multiplayer will make up for it. That and the 360 version.

I rather like the PS2/Wii versions' graphics… I feel like it's the best of both worlds. Like if the Real Ghostbusters HAD been allowed to use the actors' likenesses.

But RGB still would have kept the look more realistic than this. Even with the possibilities of multiplayer, it's going to be hard to swollow the game when it's so over-the-top cartoony.

I understand that the reason why they are also going for a cartoon look is for younger audiences. but ask yourself this; if you were 8 years old\ which version would you prefer the look of and be more exited about. i know i'd pick the 360 version. i can't understand why they always feel why it's necessary to dumb things down for kids. i dunno, maybe it's just because of the capabilities of the ps3 and wii, but judging by some of wiis games at least theycould bring the grakhics up to the standard of, say metroid 3, okay naybe still not as realistic looking as the 360 version but decent enough!

Nah, they need to leave the Wii the way it is, so us PS2 users don't feel cheated as the only console version with the cartoony graphics (DS is not a console). =3

the ps2 version could also go for a more realistic look.

But could the PS2 handle such as the other versions? It is, after all, a previous generation console…

Anyways, as long as it has the same story and all, I'm good with it. Though more casual gameplay is nice, too… Good story AND non-challenging gameplay would really be the best of both worlds.
