RevRaven Wrote:An original song, maybe, but highly unlikely. It would be interesting if only for the distinction of being the first commercially distributed song for a video game. If you mean the original 1984 track…well..it's a 23 year old song! It's highly dated and doesn't fit in musically with anything released since the Reagan Administration. While the song itself is an 80s staple it doesn't have any place in 2008 era music aside from nostalgia.
*What you mean “2008 music” like watered-down pop crap like Beyonce and Gwen Stefani, who is an ‘80’s throwback musically? Or do you mean the current set of
uninspired “Rap & R&B” slop, that re-samples last week's “beats” and
lyrics with a new “gimmick rhyme” over and over? Or better yet - The current wave of “pop-punk” that disguises itself as “emo”, just because the “artists” sport “swoopy” hair-do's and eyeliner? Or worst-of-the-worst - What “nu-metal” has become…It was HORRIBLE to begin with, now they seem fit to ape Iron Maiden & Pantera in an effort to seem “credible” …
*This was what “2007 Music” looks like, and 2008 ‘aint gonna be much different…Gimmie a f’n break…
*And about the “Ray Parker Jr.” song being “only good for nostalgia”, then you might as well say that's what the “Ghostbusters” franchise is in 2007/8 - NOSTALGIA…Which it obviously is NOT…At least not to me…It was a wholely ‘80’s concept
yes - but that has lasted and become timeless since it's inception…
*One example of what I'm trying to get across and to borrow from your “analogy” - “The Reagan Administration” and the constant “Threat Of Nuclear War”… “Nuclear Weapons” were a BIG issue in the ‘80’s, and as such most likely had some bearing on the movie's “tech”…Do you think such a concept would have been “birthed” today? I think not…
*And yes, the song has the trappings of an “'80's pop/rock” song, however it, not unlike the franchise itself, has become timeless…It is their “battle cry”, their “theme” to not have it at all in the game would be SUICIDE…
*And as far as I'm concerned the song is better than 98% of the crap on the radio today…
*Sorry, but that's how I feel about that…

*Because that was part of their character's habits…Ray & Peter SMOKED…And the only reason I can think of that they didn't in part “II”, was that it was because societies' standards against that sort of thing had become more stringent by ‘88/’89…Though Ray did smoke cigars…And I think that was more a “Dan” thing…He loves his cigars and his tequila…
*It was a part of the “bringing Dan's original GB1 script down to earth” thing…They smoked, drank beer, cursed and ate crappy take-out chinese …Just about ALL of the adults I've known in my life do at least some of this …

Anything that makes me play this game over and over to get certain unlockables. Please.
*The “alternate” dark outfits from the “monatge” in GBII? “The Real Ghostbusters”-styled characters and equipment? Different “Ecto-1” skin?…
*Ideas?
*Cheers.
