Crossing the Streams
Ectofiend.

I think your suggestions are good, yet i think your presentation of them are a little strong.

what with the “WTF” or the “?!?!” may make you seem like a douche when you're just simply trying to improve and suggest what the game should look like.

what you're doing is good, its just you're presentation and word choice.

(*peter)

You put it into words better then I did, thanks.

Thanks man, always good to hear from the fans. (*ray)

Stay tuned, things are gonna start heating up!

Anyway, having seen more of the concept images from GI, I really really can't wait.

You already said this and It still feels mighty cold! :-)

I personally could do without Gozer, you already know how to “beat that boss” - just break Rule #1

How about the use of walkie talkies when the characters need to communicate from different locations. I read that you can hear the other characters speaking to you and one another on the walkie talkies but I wonder if you'll be able to call them for assistance. For example, you happen to be all alone in a room but you come across an enemy which requires two chatacters to shoot it simaltaneously in order to defeat it so you need another one of the Ghostbusters to help you. You could select your walkie talkie, then select which character or characters you want to talk to, then select either one of the following:

1 Call for help
2 Check up
3 Put Away

If you select “Call for help” your character calls for assistance over the radio telling their team mate what the problem is and where abouts they are. That character will then automatically run to where you are.

By selecting check up you can talk to other characters over the radio basically for fun. They may tell you what they have, heard, seen, smelt, what to look out for etc.

By selecting “Put Away” your character puts the walkie talkie away.

Characters may also contact you and ask you for assistance.

I am however unsure about one thing in reference to how the walkie talkies worked in the movie. When they spoke could they be heard by everyone else or just the person they were speaking to?

The thing to bear in mind is that only a limited number of functions can presumably be assigned to any of the console ports this game will be released on.

In all, a Xbox 360 controller has 15 buttons, the ‘Y’ ‘X’ ‘A’ ‘B’ buttons which presumably would be set to choose whether you have the PKE, Proton Gun, Trap or ‘no weapon selected’. The two triggers, one of which presumably is the regular Proton Beam when using the Proton Gun, and the other is the ‘knockout’, the ‘surge’ which is said to be a part of the Proton Beam to allow you to weaken and entity.

Of course, the R1, R2, L1 and L2 may be there for for weapon options as well… whilst certainly the directional stick and arrow buttons are self explanatory.

I'm sure we'd love to be able to emulate every element of the films, communication via radio, throw out a Trap whilst firing and other elements seen in the films… but there's only so much that can be achieved with a console gamepad as at the end of it, everyone has to be able to play the game and futhermore… it has to be fun, if it ended up having difficult combinations of options it'd probably discourage people from playing it…

I don't think that adding the ability to use the walkie talkie and commands would be a big issue with regards to the controller. I think an easy to use control scheme is acheivable if done the right way.

From what i've read, the team AI is pretty snazzy anyway, so you shouldnt have to call them up on a radio to get them to do things.

well of course, one can combine buttons

Example:
PS2 Controller
Hold R1 to equipt the radio -
press -
X -Help
O - Attack
Box - Group Up
Triangle - Investigate.

easy peezy lemon squezy
