Anything can be done in Ghostbusters with the proper script and consideration imo (p.s. who's peoplebusters?) such as Freddy v.s. Ghostbusters… yes far feched and even a bit crazy, but it worked because it was well done and the script was good.

and whilst Samhain, the Boogieman, the Grundle and the Peoplebusters worked great in a cartoon… they probably would seem too cartoony in something based on the movie.

It's no more cartoony than Stay Puft. You can have a giant made out of marshmallow, but not evil doppelgangers or the god of Halloween? They could've just redesigned them to fit better in to the live action universe if the animated designs were to comical.

True, but the whole point of Mr. Stay Puft was that he was meant to be this impossible thing, this giant cartoon mascot who was there to end the world.

Whilst I can easily imagine how they could be done if they were to be brought into the film, such as the Peoplebusters looking more like zombified Ghostbusters and Samhain appearing more evil… it's one thing to take a cartoonish element from the live action movie into a cartoon, it's another to take a cartoonish element from the cartoon into a live action movie.

Only_Zuul, the Peoplebusters were a group of evil doppelgängers of the Ghostbusters (minus Winston) after the Ghostbusters were thrown into a parallel universe and landed in Boo York City. And that isn't really that good an example as it wasn't taking something from a cartoon spinoff and adapting it into the movie, it was taking something from another live action movie and putting it into a live action Ghostbusters fan film.

I reckon we'll get one nod, in the form of the containment unit, just as was the case in the Legion comic. It's such a great design it seems obvious that folk would use it - i always imagined it would have been in GB2 if they'd ever gone downstairs. After all, Janine was suddenly a dyed red head in ‘kerazy’ clothes, slimer was hanging around the firehouse, different colour uniforms popped up and (tenuously) Winston had no ‘tasche!

there IS a precedent for Aykroyd and Ramis acknowledging the cartoons, only a lot of time has passed since then and GB1 is probably the most instantly recognisable reference in 2007 for the characters and their behaviour.

I’m with Kingpin, there MAY be tiny nods to RGB, but sadly for the die-hards like myself (although quite reasonably given the wider audience they're presumably after) that'll probably be it.

Hey the current “in” thing at Marvel is Marvel Zombies. Peoplebusters are basically just that.

I think the biggest thing most people have to remember is that Harold and Dan are writing this. And they very rarely IF ever watched the cartoon. They created the mythos, we worshiped the mythos, its different.

If anybody else has the GBI module “Pumpkin Patch Panic”, there's a nice, more realistic, darker pic of Samhain in there ('round about page 13) they could use as a basis. If they wanted to.

The thing I can't tell is whether I'd want them to change his accent or not. For me, at best, his voice was amusing.

Personally, I think we'd have more chance of seeing the ghost Ghostbusters then the peoplebusters, but I don't even think we'll see them.

Lol, I think we'll all have to agree that the old games were just….bad to say the least, though the Genesis version was kinda okay, just no Winston, boo @ no Winston.
