UPDATE 1/5/09

Greetings!

This is a public call to any artists wishing to work on a ghostbusters-related project. The team is in need of at least one more person with graphic design skills. The project is currently in its infancy, but is rapidly coming together. The following will be expected of the prospective team member:

*Adherence to deadlines

*Skilled at illustrations (pencil and ink, colors, etc)

*Proficiency in any graphic design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc)

*Proficiency in a publishing and layout program (MS Publisher and the like)

*Be familiar with and able to put together a specified “book-style” layout for publishing.

*Be willing to work “Pro-bono” (1)

*Be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement

*Be reasonably “available” by email or cellphone (2)

(1): This is a “proof-of-concept” project, and therefore has no budget. No members are being compensated for their time and material, and said project is drawing no profit of any kind. However, if the project is successful, this is subject to change.

(2): This means that you are available to discuss terms and project material at reasonable intervals of time. I.E.: You won't be unreachable for weeks at a time for some reason.

All interested should put together a portfolio of no less than 3 (no maximum) pieces of Ghostbusters artwork. The artwork should be “movie-inspired” (likenesses of the actors), but we aren't strictly looking for “realism.” More “cartoonish” caricatures are just as good as realistic artwork. You may also include any “publishing” work you may have done (newsletters, books, ads). The published work is optional, and does not count towards the maximum number of items you may submit.

Also include a copy of a resume. This resume need only contain related skills and experience.

Send these as an attachment to the following email address:

We'd like to pick an artist by the end of January, so I'm setting the open call deadline to midnight on January 30th, 2009. Depending on how many entries we get, we may take on more than one artist, but we'd like to keep the team small….no promises!
We hope to hear from you soon!

UPDATE:

We're extending crew to

1) Layout designer

and

2) Interior artist

If we have enough talent, we'll take on two artists.

I'd also like to add that this will be an excellent opportunity for those wanting to add publishing-grade quality work to the portfolio and earn experience in putting together a publication should they be interested in going into the industry as a career.

This is an opportunity that shouldn't be missed, so if you think you're up to it, send in your entry per Vincent's guidelines.

I am trying to talk my girlfriend into this. I think she would be awesome.

Any particular reason for the movie-likenesses of GB for this project or chance of modified RGB-likenesses of the project?

It's purely a “project aim” thing. Any more info than that and I'd be breaking the NDA.

I love RGB, myself, but the aim is for the movies.

Damn my inability to draw! This sounds like it could be a really interesting project!

Wow…sounds like this (whatever it is) is RIGHT up my alley! Not only am I an obsessed GB fan, but I draw extremely well and I'm a graphic designer - been working in the printing industry for at least 10 years, so I'm very proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign (Publisher and Quark…not so much). So, I'll hafta whip something together for this!!

Please do! We may have to take on both an illustrator and a layout designer, but you're very welcome to make submissions!

Just remember…deadline is January 30th.

Boy I wish. (The fact that I obviously suck at drawing actor caricatures doesn't help either):-)
