Okay, I was thinking…with all this talk of a GB 3 and how we don't need new guys, I was thinking howabout a new concept?
Imagine: it's sometime in the mid to late 21st Century, and Ghostbusters has expanded into an international business. You got teams of GBers running around busting ghosts. I mean, let's face it…it's a very lucrative business what with people dying every day. My angle is putting a bit of corporate America's corruption in here.
Imagine if the head CEO was actually a ghost or demon himself managing to screen himself from all PKE devices, and he was actually storing the ghosts captured over a kind of Hellmouth in the middle of NYC. This containment unit when activated would create a vortex, pulling in the netherworld into our world and making humankind extinct…unless a group of GBers get wise to the plans and try to stop them. But, how can they convince their fellows that their boss is a traitor to the cause so they can get the backup they need to prevent the end of the world.
Of course, since it takes place in the future, there's gonna be a blend of Demolition Man, BTTF2 and all other futuristic elements in there.

Intresting idea, develop it some more and you might have somthing big there.
