I imagine $150,000 is a bargain for a restored 1959 Cadillac Ambulance.

As for Barris, he has no role whatsoever in any Ectomobile's creation.

George Barris has developed a carreer of taking credit for cars he never built. Ecto-1 is one of them, the Back to the Future Time Machine is another, I believe the General Lee is a third.

no……. nooo … nooo. i am calling it now and forever no one will buy that hearse for that price

if it had an 80,000 price tag than okay still high but can see it… not a 150,000 tag ..

Who ever even thinks about buying this car you are nuts

its not accurate.

If it was a 100% accurate GBI car from inside and out i would say yea 100,000 maybee even more.

But 150G no way sir.

Are you joking? That's got to be one of the most accurate reproductions out there, he's even got the correct mounting brackets for the barlights and what appears to be the correct models of red police beacon and siren housing.

The only items missing from the exterior are the strobe lights on the radiator grille.

Now true, the interior isn't accurate, but to say the car's not worth that price principally because of that? Come on.

It's a good replica, it's the right model of car, the roof rack and other exterior equipment are probably 99.5% correct and it has a bit of history.

One of the best features even the real Ecto doesn't have now is the Ectoplasmic residue runoff sticker next to the grey hose on the right side.

yes it is accurate to that point, people who want a 100% car will pay that much for it… hell i beat if sony would sell there car they would sell it for less than 100G. That car is not worth that much , idc if it was the original car used in ghostbusters. it cost less to find one and make it up to date for about 30-60G Depending on How much work you put in.

like i said it will never sell for that price.

Now that's just being Naive. Were Sony to sell the original Ecto-1, I could easily see it being sold for more than 100,000.

it cost less to find one and make it up to date for about 30-60G Depending on How much work you put in.

That's why there's mark up, Sony wouldn't sell it unless they made a profit. They know they could get away with selling it for four times the original purchace price.

this just blows me away , i keep dreaming of riding downthe road in this with my GB gear on with my old neighborhood buddies. This exact car came to my local mall, and just like he said it had NOTHING inside, I of course was saddened by this. WHAT I WOULD DO FOR AN EXTRA 150K!(*_*)
