Origins of Gozer

Not sure if this is well known, but I've always wondered which poltergeist case Dan was referring to in this line from Making Ghostbusters:

“…Gozer was a name that related to a documented haunting in England…the one Poltergeist was based on, in fact. During this particular haunting, the name Gozer appeared mysteriously throughout the house…”

Recently, I've picked up a book called This House Is Haunted, about the famous Enfield poltergeist written by an investigator who lived in the house during the disturbances. The book, first published in 1980, is now out of print in the US but can be bought used, and found new on Amazon's UK website. Anyway, here's page 65, when two psychics are trying to contact the spirit behind the haunting:

Same here. I went to ebay to see if anyone was selling a copy and they actually wanted over $70 for it! :-(

Whatever image hosting site he used has probably expired, since it was posted in 2008 (almost 2.5 years ago).

The only thing which remains on the web about this is this little quote:

‘This Gozer is a nasty piece of work,’ George added. 'A sort of black magic chap. The other one, Elvie, is an elemental. She is using the elemental and Gozer is using her. He's the boss. If we get her out of the way, the whole set-up will fall apart.' An elemental to Spiritualists, is a low form of spirit used by the smarter ones to do the dirty work.

I guess someone will have to hunt out an original copy for more, although it really goes no further than a shared name. They seem to be relatively cheap on Amazon.

I knew about the haunted house, but I never heard the whole story
