Barnes and Noble for me. I no longer have a Walden Books anywhere (and I do mean anywhere) with in a drivable distance from where I live. I do however have a out of date Wal-mart (you know one of those who's majority of its stock is still on shelves from christmas of last year and have not gotten much of anything really new), a Books A Million (thats going the same way as the fore mentioned Wal-Mart) and a brand new (less than 6 months old) Barnes and Noble in our mall that they took out our theater for…

yea, ive been to a walmart similar. its kinda kewl to have just to find old stuff that you wont see in a new walmart. im the opposite with the Barnes and Noble. we have walden books here, and the closest B&N store around here maybe 30mints away. our walden books gets up-to-date stuff pretty regulary so its pretty kewl regardless. although their computer books section should be updated with newer stuff, but other than that.

The ironic thing is that Walmart is about 2 years old, and after it's first Christmas it went down hill. Significantly.

ours hasnt, its a super walmart, but the one thats several minutes away has, although the local area its located is a pretty old area.

Ours is a Super Walmart as well. Biggest one in the area too. They built it in the smallest area. Granted it gets a lot of local business in the grocery side, but the rest of it remains relatively untouched. They were banking on the Walmart drawing business from several communities (that would make our Walmart the closest one for them as opposed to the one 30-45 minutes away)…but for some reason it didn't really work.

Additionally this one also gets a little tourists business being settled in a tourist town such as this, right smack dab in the middle of hotels…but it's apparently just not enough.

Additionally we have a oversaturation of walmarts. We literally have 5 within a 15 minute drive from my house…Hell…two of them are less than 5 miles (physical) from each other

No kidding. One of those 2 that is less than 5 miles from each other…they destroyed some mashlands in order to build it. Ducks and various other animals that used to live there still hang around the southern end (away from the Walmart building) of the parking lot.
