Rumor has it that Sony plans to make another Godzilla movie in 2009. I love the old school godzilla, and I hated sony's zilla.

I get Forbidden when I click the link, you might want to check the HTML.

I guess I'm one of the few people who enjoyed the 1998 film, sure… I don't take it as a litteral translation of the original concept… but I'm not sure I'd enjoy the original concept.

I just don't understand about the link. Anyway, I orignally liked the fact that a large American production company was making the film, but when I saw it, it just didn't feel right. The title monster was truly just an animal, which kept the film miles away from Ishiro Honda and Tomoyuki Tanaka's orignal concept, which was a giant monster, brought to life by nuclear tests wreaks havoc on mankind. This godzilla just ran around, laid eggs and ate fish.

Dr.D
which was a giant monster, brought to life by nuclear tests wreaks havoc on mankind.

I don't follow… 1998 Godzilla was birthed by the French Polynesian nuclear tests… and trampled across Manhattan Island, destroying a good few buildings and the 23rd Street Subway Station to boot! :p

I know, I know… but it's like Transformers… it wasn't likely going to be a litteral adaption of what had come before.

Have you guys seen Godzilla finnal Wars? Great movie, with the Japan Godzilla. But it was about all monsters attacking Godzilla. The american Godzilla was in that movie under the name Zilla.

I liked the american Godzilla movie. But the original Godzilla is whole lot better.

I enjoyed the Godzilla flick as well, just not fond of Matthew Broderick.

Try this link which is the front page, the news article is up the top. (Outside links are forbidden)

I did see Final Wars, and I loved it. And the point that I tried to make earlier is that the monsters in Sony's Godzilla doesn't destroy on purpose, her digs into the earth to make a tunnel, which happens to go through the subway. The the military destroyed more than the monster.

Well, I got my wish. Sony has no plans to make a new Zilla movie. It was just a rumor started on a godzilla forum and a german website saw it and repotred that it was being made.
