I think everyone who is sending sequencial art (or has already sent art) for the GB comic Penciler gig, should post their pages in this thread. I personally would love to see what people are sending. I will post my stuff when I am finished in the next few days.

I don't have any sequentials (ps, if your gonna send them sequentials don't make them GB ones) but I found a script I'm gonna do. I'm also going to send these GB related things I've done:

I don't understand. Why wouldn't you want to send them GB related sequentials? I would think that seeing as the position is for a Ghostbusters project, and that they themselves revealed the subject matter as opposed to keeping it a secret, that they would want to see how well you could handle working with said subject matter.

I could sorta understand if the GB comic had been in circulation for some time know, that they would want to see something more from you than what already appears in the comics. But as it stands the comic hasn't been published yet, the only portion of the comic's appearance that has been revealed are the designs of the four GBs, and 88mph's add sounds kinda urgent.

It's not that they want to see if you can draw the ghostbusters, cause if you can draw good, you can draw them. What they want to see is your story telling ability. If you are making a ghostbusters sequential sample, chances are that it wasn't writting proffessionaly. They want to see how you can interpret a proffessional script, not just draw your own little comic. You can get plenty of 3 page samples on the net to try out though

I agree, doing GB might not be the best way to go. It's like submitting art to Disney. They don't care if you can draw Mickey or Goofy, they care if you can draw still life and the human anatomy. If you can do that, then Mickey is no problem. If you send them something besides GB, it shows you have range and are versatile. My sequence isn't GB related. I should have the last page done soon.

RD, I enjoyed your slimer. It reminded me of the current 88mph slimer design, but darker and moodier. I little more evil, and I dig that.

Wait a second, how does being able to draw realistic subject matter well apply to drawing Mickey Mouse? I know people who rock at realism but can't draw cartoon characters worth crap. It's like apples and oranges.

Eh, if you're making a portfolio those are all good suggestions.

But this isn't making a portfolio. This is applying for the job, which happens to be drawing Ghostbusters.
