Hey. If you're new here and this is why you're posting, welcome to the boards. I'd just like to impart you with some reminders before you post in the Ghostbusters III Forum.

1) “I've heard that Dan Aykroyd's done a video interview where he denounces Ghostbusters III, is this true?”

That is correct, in an interview for CTV he said that there isn't anything going on, and that the rumours attributed to Harold are false.

2) “But, hold on a minute… I've seen a recent interview with Harold Ramis… he said they had a script and wanted Ben Stiller in for the new movie!”

That's partly true… Harold had voiced interest in getting Stiller to do a third movie and they had a storyline… however it was spoken in past tense, Stiller was a contender when Chris Farley was still alive and this was before Dan's going separate ways from Sony. As an additional asside, any comments or articles from IGN or Hollywood.com should be ignored as they have added a slanted view on the original article… suggesting they are recent developments when they're at least five years out of date or older. The original article was released in November, 2005.

3) “But… wait a minute! I've seen ‘Ghostbusters In Hell’ listed at both Wikipedia and IMDb recently… surely that's proof?”

Sadly, it isn't. Wikipedia should be ignored as a professional reference material because anybody and everybody can edit it… articles frequently suffer from unsourced and inaccurate information and it should only be regarded as a soure of information to enlighten you a little… anything from it should receive further rsearch to ensure the information is accurate.

As for IMDb, it is a similar problem. Anyone and everyone can submit information to be included and said information has the tendancy to be inaccurate or made up. IMDb has been frequently known to have fake pages posted by people and incorrect information on official pages. As an additional note, the IMDb listing for ‘Ghostbusters In Hell’ Link has recently lost it's cast list (Which only comprimised of Dan Aykroyd, Ben Stiller and Rick Moranis) and gone from ‘In Production’ to ‘Unknown’.

Additionally, neither Ernie Hudson or Rick Moranis have said they have been contacted to appear in a third movie and the Hook and Ladder 8 Firehouse in New York has not been booked out for filming.

4) “But… surely they'll make it because Ghostbusters is popular!”

If only… popularity alone doesn't get a movie made… it has to be a fairly safe financial investment… with the way the recent merchandise have sold it's likely Sony have not been given that good an impression even if we loved all of it… they won't do anything with the property unless they are going to rake in a bundle. Couple onto that that several of the main cast are now moving quickly on into their late years and Dan and Harold are moving away from acting… it seems increasingly unlikely that should a third movie happen that they will reprise their roles.


While they above doesn't discredit the idea 100%, the chances are so insignificantly small that I would expect more to put my hopes on then the recent rumours. I hope that answers everything, if you have more questions please feel free to send me a Private Message.

Hopefully we won't see anymore topics about these false rumors about GB3 happening or not. You notice in imdb. That the names of the actors/charaters have been removed..

I happen to have it on good authority that the contract for GBIII has, contrary to dan Aykroyd's interview on ETalk daily, recieved a green light. This comes from a good friend who works in the movie advertisement industry. It is slated for a 2008 release date according to iMDb.com. This information was released to me today by said source.

Believe me or not, it's up to you……….
