The golden proton pack might be an exclusive, but the GB 2 outfit and the other things might do what some other games did. You can still unlock them in game with a little effort, but the codes allows you to unlock the stuff now.

I wasn't aware that you could do that at GameStop. They're not giving out the promos as you pre-order, its when you come and pick up the game.

In all honesty, it wouldn't make much sense on GameStop's part if you could do that. They would give away a lot of free stuff for nothing, because people would just cancel.

It looks like the EB/GameStop pre-order will be packaged in the game case itself. So far the packing looks identical to The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena pre-order. The voucher code was on a card behind the manual when I opened up my copy.

I said in another thread the same red circle on the Ghostbusters case is on the Riddick case as well. Both are from Atari. When I pre-ordered inFamous (a Sony published game), I was given a card with the voucher code on it and that game isn't out yet.

I think it looks cool. Not very practical, but cool.

And as for the one from Best Buy, at least we now know what happened to the last Rookie…

I really think the golden proton pack takes away from the details of the pack, the HUD, the tough lookingness (not a word i know lol) of the pack. But it is a keeper for those collectors!

GameStop and GameCrazy used to do that, sort of. Many employees would give out pre-order bonuses with the reservation, which technichally we weren't supposed to. It was kind of a nice thing until people started abusing it.

I think I'm gonna go with the Best Buy exclusive. Playing as a Ghoul is much cooler than playing as that rookie.

Local Gamestop/s do the same thing here if they get the code cards ahead of time before the product itself (i.e. the code card is not in the game packaging).

i wish we could get a clear answer about whats unlockable and whats not. Skanker, any hints???? :-)
