They'll either recast him, or not have the character at all. Toy Story 3 is going to have another actor voicing in placement of Jim Varney (the new actor is apparently a good friend of Jim's). Futurama had Billy West do Zap Brannigin's voice after Phil Hartman died. Basically two choices.

I hope they're able to find a really good soundalike, because Megabyte would not be the same without an incredibly similar sounding voice.

I know this is a cop out, but I would rather them eliminate the character all together…like change him into Gigabyte permanently or something of the sort

I was thinking about this a lot. RIP Tony Jay.

I was thinking, who would create a bad ass enough voice while still keeping the sinister sophistication and one name came to mind

Jim Cummings. If you want a good voice actor for the part this guy is it.

If you don't know his work, check out episodes of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or Sonic Sat AM. Hi role in Dr Robotnik was awesome.
