Magnets? On what?

Too hook the gun to the pack!

You…might not want to go for magnets unless you're really careful. I have this sudden image of the Proton Gun getting a nice big rip taken out of the side if you're planning on the magnets.

That said, I imagine you were thinking about hooking the magnets *inside* the pack and gun. I think that might work, but, like I said, you'd have to be careful in terms of designing this.

Yeah, thats what I'm planning. But since you're technically not suppose to be using regular paper, but cardstock or photo paper, it shouldn't be that easy to rip, but again you're going to careful either way right?

This is the only idea I have right now, and it's not without it's flaws, but I think as long as you don't use super strong magnets it should be ok.

I have an idea how about using small pieces of Velcro. It will have a good hold with little weight. The problem is you might have to alter the design to have extra layers of paper where the attachments are at to reinforce the sides with the Velcro.

I've actually got a few “paper crafts” from magazines (mostly kamen rider stuff that use velcro). Yeah, velcro will hold it, but the problem is it's hard too take it off without ripping the thing by accident, like you said.

I had to be REALLY careful when taking the things off the velcro, and these things are made of pretty good durable cardstock.

I just had another “brilliant” idea.

Magnets in the Proton Pack, and paper clips in the gun. Paper clips are attracted to a magnet, but not enough to risk damaging the Nutrona Wand.

Yeah, that could work! Just tape a big one on the inside of the wand, and it'll “hook” on and off easily.

Another question for you. Are you going to go the RGB route on this one, and have the “wand” on one side of the pack and the trap on the other?

You may need a paper clip in the trap, if so. At least that'll work better than Kenner's “break the handle, catch the ghost” arrangement.

No. It's the movie pack, not the RGB one. Adding that would technically make it inaccurate.
