Getting an idea from somewhere is one thing. For instance, if I read a story about time travel and write a fan fic of the Ghostbusters involving time travel.

What you are doing is taking the exact same story, changing…two details? (Ghosts are aliens in the FF movie, and some sort of radiation keeps them out) This in the field of ideas is whats known as ripping off.

Am I saying it will be a bad story? No. I don't judge anything until it's actually written. Am I saying you shouldn't write it? Thats your call.

Just letting you know, the internet is filled with critics, many of who are much more harsher than me. Feel free to write it, but the be prepared for the comments.
