I have no concept of what this Omnibus Timeline Universe is; I just want to spin a good yarn and go for one of those huge end-of-the-world scenarios Ghostbusters is so good at doing.

Well, to cut a short story long, the Omnibus Timeline Universe says that the movies, cartoons, and the NOW and 88MPH comics all happened and that's the established history which Fritz Baugh's Ghostbusters stories, The Nightsquad fics (mostly), the GBUK stories and a load of other franchises use as the history of the universe they're set in.

You can read The Ghostbusters Omnibus Timeline over at the Ectozone, and whilst it may appear a bit daunting to someone new to it, it's been organised into neat sections for each ‘period’.

Whatever I'm thinking of, it's definitely outside of what you define as “the timeline”.

And believe me, you'll probably change your mind when you see just what I have in mind with the Dark Army.

It's still possible to do it with GBUK, however it'd likely end up as a “Ghostbusters UK Apocrypha”, which is a title that's used for stories that diverge from the Omnibus Universe, such as this idea you're planning.

Under those circumstances I wouldn't be as objectional, but I'd still have to ask Iain how he felt on it.

Thinking about it now, it's definitely not within the canon! About the only things that would remain are the characters and the taxi. I have some equipment sketches I'm working on that would make your hair stand on end.

(P.S. When I said “technical specs” I meant things like how to write for the characters, and what kind of dialogue to give them! Sorry for the confusion there.)

I did get what you meant about the ‘tech specs’ for the characters.

As for the equipment, I've got a design for the nutrona wands to be in the shape of gloves, with the streams coming out of the fingertips a la Emperor Palpatine. (!!!!!!) I've had that one floating around for a long time, you know.

And the Taxi! You know, the one Addiemonster's making for you in the other thread.

Yeah, I knew about the Taxi… I think I now understand what you meant when you mentioned the ‘characters and the Taxi’. I can't honestly say how Iain would approach the ‘nutrona wands’ that were Aykroyd's original concept.

I have, but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, mostly because I'm still to have regular contact with Iain now that he's back at Uni.

At some point I'd like to fit it into my not so busy schedule to write:

GHOSTBUSTERS VS. HELLRAISER

But with my luck, somebody else probably wrote something like that already. Title says it all: Ghostbusters VS. Pinhead and the Cenobites from “Hellraiser”.

I do recall at least one Hellraiser crossover story somewhere in the fic archives…
