No offense, but if people weren't willing to buy it straight up off of you on here, why would they be interested in using that number as their opening bid? Or buy it on eBay for $100 more?

You'd probably be better off trying to lower the opening bid price, and using a reserve price so that you don't have to sell it if the number doesn't get high enough for your liking.

I realize you want to get $150 for the gun, that's my point. You don't put the opening bid at what you want to get for it. Put it lower, and let people begin to outbid each other and move the price up. If you put a reserve price on it for $150, and it only gets to $120, you don't have to sell it. But if you start it at $150, with such a high starting price, people are going to be leery of getting involved in bidding on it since it might sky rocket as more people get interested and bid.
