Does anyone if the ps2 version will play on a backwards compatible PS3?

It should, as long as you have an older ps3 that does that.

It doesnt play some games, since this game is brand new I wasnt sure if they even updated the ability to play ps2 games on the older models.

It's not exactly the same game and it's only 20 bucks. I don't have the wii to get the other version so I thought this might be a good alt.

If you have a 20GB, 60GB, 80GB from the Motorstorm Bundle or Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle, it will play PS2 games. The 40GB, newer 80GBs and 160GBs don't play PS2 games.
