Technically, yes. Practically, who knows?

The key is your definition and plan for “release it out to the community”

Well I have yet to actually get a copy of the book myself, but I have been thinking about it more and more as days go by. The more I debate with myself about securing a copy of the book the more I want to release it for everyone to enjoy.

If I were to do it essentially I would be converting it over to just a simple text file, creating a site for it and allowing people to either download it to look over it at their leisure while at the same time have it posted on the site so they can read it off the site itself if they wish

Two great flavors that taste great together.

Then you're likely to get a cease and desist letter from Sony or whomever currently owns the iBooks materials.

Is there even an IBook version of The Return? I remember seeing a article on protoncharging concerning an Ibook version but the link to the site is dead.

Ibooks was the publisher, not, as the name implies, an electronic book. They went bankrupt so somewhere out there, someone bought up the ibooks catalogue, including The Return. Now, they won't have the license to sell it, but it's still their material, so if there were to find out about it being distributed online, they might decide to take action, which almost always begins and ends with a letter telling you to stop.

LOL, I find of feel stupid now. This entire time I have been seeing IBooks on various scans of the cover art as well as websites with information about the book and thinking “Oh well, they released an internet version of the book to purchase of their site too”

Anywho, I knew the publisher went out of business but I can see your point.

Ok. I will shut up with that now. And you can lock this up iffin you wish.

Heh, what you're talking about there is a ebook.

Indeed…I have seen them referred to as both which is where the confusion stemmed from I guess.

Transcribing it to an ebook is exactly what I am wishing to do if I can secure a copy of the book, but castewar is probably right…

Why bother if its gonna get taken down with a C&D order eg
