Question about Ghostbusters 1

The scene where Peter leaves Dana's appartment after she's turned into Zull, well he meets her at 9 o clock. He was probably there for maybe an hour or two. So that's 10 or 11 o clock. So when he gets back to the firehouse it's morning. I really don't get this. It wouldn't have taken him 9 hours to take a taxi from Dana's to the firehouse. And why would it take Ray and Winston that long to get to the firehouse? This always confused me.

I also noticed that strange time lapse between the scenes. I always thought they had decided to deal with it the next morning.

Originally the story had Ray and Winston going to a bust at a Fort outside of the city, that's where they're going to when they have their famous discussion about God and revelations, the shot of them crossing the Manhattan Bridge would've been on their way back… when the scene got dropped, the events of the night were cut down.

It's probable that Venkman's call to Egon was meant to late into the night, and that he didn't get back to the Firehouse until early morning… however the dropped/rearranged scenes messed up the progression of the day's events.

Well I don't believe (or recall) if the amount of time he was at Dana's apartment is ever discussed. Evidently, he was wrestling with Zuul all night.

I wish they had filmed them going to a fort outside the city. That would've been cool.

It was filmed, but it was left on the cutting room floor during editing.

The only thing that ever really bothered me about that scene was the fact that Peter had both a syringe and tranquilizer with him already when he went to go see Dana.
