About a month ago I saw Terminator Salvation action figures at a store. Though I never saw the movie, one of the action figures looked identical to the T-800 Terminator from the original Terminator film, but on the box it said it was a “T-R.I.P” (Resistance Infiltrator Prototype). Normally, I would never buy something like this, but the T-800 from the first movie looked so badass that I decided to get the figure.
The figure I got was the 4 inch T-R.I.P., but just the other day I returned to that same store and got the 6 inch T-R.I.P figure, mainly because I was so impressed with the first one that I wanted to get the other one too.
But what is the difference between the T-800 and the T-R.I.P.?
I found a video on youtube with two amazingly detailed figures of a T-700 and T-800 together for a comparison. The man making the video said that the figures looked to be from the same mold, and only the coloring was different.
They had the T-700 at the store where I got my two figures, and the T-700 looked to be from the same mold as the T-R.I.P., and only the coloring was different. Since the T-800 and the T-R.I.P. are both a metallic silver color, I can only conclude that they are identical to each other.
