When Gozer appears, he is in the form of the architect of Dana's building. But in the movie, Gozer is a yugoslavian girl. Has there ever been a reason given for this?

What are you TALKING about? Gozer is whatever it wants to be! And I don't remember ever hearing that Gozer appears as that insane architect!!!

You can see where the kid got confused tho. In the mix at the end of the movie youv got Two Terror Dogs, a GateKeeper and KeyMaster, Dana and Louis, Zool, Gozer, the architect who led the gozer worshippers, the marshmallow, the yugo slavian girl, the talking top of the building… connecting them all together can get messy, especially when they dont take time to explain each one.

No…here's the actual words from the script:



The Terror Dogs have now taken ritual positions on the staircase. The
heavy stone gates begin to open and a bright white light starts to emerge.
As the light descends the stairs a human form slowly materializes.

THE FORM

It is a thin, hollow-cheeked, distinguished looking man in his early
sixties. His eyes are burning red pin-holes, He looks around at the
spectacular rooftop view, then acknowledges the two Terror Dogs and starts
stroking them like house pets.

THE GHOSTBUSTERS

They stare at the apparition,

SPENGLER
(recognizes him)
It's Shandor - the architect!

WINSTON
I thought he died!

VENKMAN
It doesn't seem to have slowed him down any.

STANTZ
I don't think it's Shandor.

He gets to his feet and speaks sharply to Gozer.

STANTZ (CONT'D)
Gozer the Gozerian?





SEE? There was no woman in the original script. They changed it…

Sometimes scripts change, gozer was sposed to be a man at first(they were gonna get PeeWee to play him)then they decided to change it. All movies have changes from the script.

Yes, that is I believe the final draft of the script. GB being done in such a short time meant that some parts had to be cut, and others compromised. You'll notice that is still the final draft of the script, you don't alter the script to go along with what you did in a movie afterwards.

Yes Pee-Wee Herman (is that Allan Reuben or Paul Reubens? One is Pee-Wee and the other is Mr. Fantastic from the Blues Brothers Band… grr I always get their names mixed up!) was wanted for the part. Dan thought it quirky to have a polite business type guy who was actually a demon (reportedly he went back to that idea for the GBIII script). Pee Wee had prior business, they were getting short on time and decided to change dramatically. I believe the actress who played Gozer has a documented interview somewhere here on the net.
