Originally, didn't Shades and Ernie die during the Blair Witch bust? If so, how come they did not die in the “GBNS: Burkittsville” fan-fic Bo posted here?

Or am I all mixed up? Because the stories at the Nightsquad site don't download for me (for some reason), and I really like the fan-fics written by Nightsquad. I find Bo and Jen to be good characters, and Vincent is a character I indeed like very much (partially because of my own Scottish heritage). And Eric owns all due to liking black metal.
