Can you drive Ecto-1 in the new game? I haven't seen an answer to this so far.

Only in the DS version, not in the PC/360/PS3/Wii/PS2 versions.

Not to sure guess we will have to wait and see.

Still seems like sort of a bummer for the player that you can't. But then it makes sense that the more senior Ghostbusters would be behind the wheel, rather than a wet nose. Especially in the middle of all the chaos that ensues.

lol there is lots of mixed opinions on this, myself am a open world game lover and wud love to be able to drive the ecto-1 to the missions, but others say it will ruin the game, so maybe it shud be added to the 2nd game but be able to TRIP SKIP like in GTA

I don't think I've heard anyone say it would ruin the game. In fact, most people seem to wish it was in there. Its not a big deal for me that its not, but it would be cool. But I definitely don't think I've heard anyone say it would be a negative addition to the game.

I think it's kind of a wise decision to make it where the player can't drive Ecto1B. That car is just as much a character as the original four GBs, so to drive it would essentially be like playing Venkman/Stantz/etc and take away from the story, imo.

And even if you could drive it, I don't see the appeal. You get a view from the front of the car. Not that great, if you ask me. Now if you're riding in the car and firing as it's being driven by another GB(as rumored) then THAT sounds like fun.

If so, what would be the chance of an open world GB game?

It is something that would be super cool, even if it meant finding sound alikes for the sequel, in order to broaden the game.

Think of the possibilities.

Random ghostbusting, main storyline, upgrading proton packs, driving.

I imagine a city where you can explore (ala Spiderman 2, 3, Web of Shadows,) while busting random ghosts.

Man if I had time to think, I could come up with some cool crap that could go into an open city GB game.

So is it anything you guys would or were considering should the first game do great?

Oh and I don't mention getting back the voice actors, because I imagine they'd only want to participate if it can be a new story somewhat crafted by Akyroyd and Ramis again.

agree with megax i would also love a open world GB game, open world is very popular, so why not
