Oh and I don't mention getting back the voice actors, because I imagine they'd only want to participate if it can be a new story somewhat crafted by Akyroyd and Ramis again.

Considering the rumors that they're all willing to come back for a Ghostbusters 3 written by different people, I wouldn't say they wouldn't come back for a video game if it wasn't written by Aykroyd and Ramis.

I also don't like the idea of “sound a likes” in the game. That would cheapen the game, especially after how fantastic the first one looks like it will be.

bah, open world…

wouldn't you guys prefer a Soul Caliber style fighting game?

I'm really tired of the sandbox genre, honestly. It's really not a genre of game that would work well with Ghostbusters in my opinion. Maybe it's just me, but I can't remember the scene where the Ghostbusters wasted their time randomly exploring New York City and busting random ghosts. That works for Spider-Man just fine because he does randomly swing around the city helping to stop random crime. I'd rather have a story driven experience with this property instead of the trendy, generally overrated open world sandbox game.

Now a Ghostbusters fighting game? Where do I sign up?

Thus far I've only seen it really work with the GTA games, as they avoid repetition and build and build on the levels - the ‘Heat’ style bank heist in GTA4 being ludicrously exciting. Other things like ‘Mercenaries’, not so exciting for me. I'm looking forward to seeing what Bungie have done with ‘Halo: ODST’, but that's about it.

Sandbox would only suit Ghostbusters if it were as tightly planned as GTA4, if every call added up to a bigger and bigger problem - the random ghost thing could only work as side missions, and even then could get pretty old.

Throw in an Ecto-2 and a few godzilla sized ghosts and i'd buy it, otherwise I think the ambition would outstrip the reality.

Once the game comes out beat it and see the ending.

My friends and I have wanted to work on a Golden Axe style game forever.

We kept pushing for an RGB arcade game for XBL that was in a similar style and would launch along side this game. We had the story worked out and everything. I can't remember what it was, but it had something to do with the RGB being sent back in time and having to team up with ghosts in order to destroy a physical evil that was a threat to both humans and ghosts. The ghosts would wrap around the RGB and form weapons and armor. Etc etc.

It was silly, but we still really want to make a Golden Axe style game.

While open world would have been cool, I'm way more excited to have a linear story that fits more into a third film.

And since this is a question thread….Skanker: can you by chance tell us if there will be some way to go back and view the cut scenes once the game is completed? You know, just view all of them together. I'm sure many fans(myself included) would love to go back and see those scenes with the four guys interacting with each other.
