I got my 2 6" Rays today and one of them had a blank name patch. Just solid black. What a gyp. I haven't taken it out of the package yet to see if its missing any other paint apps.

Has this happened to anyone else?

So far, one person received a Ray with a reversed name tag, and now I'm starting to worry about the ones I'm going to receive

I got my 6“ and 12” Ray today. Couple of questions:

On the 6“ Ray, is his right leg and boot supposed to be angled outward? It makes it impossible for him to stand straight up with his legs together. I can only get him to look good standing with his knees bent. The right boot is bent pretty severely at the ankle.

On the 12” figure, is there anywhere for the yellow leg hose to connect to? In the package one end just sort of was tucked into the proton pack's base. The 6" figure has a little doodad on the belt the hose plugs into, but I don't see anywhere to put it on the larger toy. I just tucked it into the velcro seam on the back of the jumpsuit to keep it from flopping around.

This is my first post but i needed to vent my frusteration. I got my two 6" rays today and before I even opened them up, I noticed that the paint was considerly worse on both of them than the egon figure. The packaging on the one had the logo way out of place on the top, so I figure this would be the one that I would open, and I would keep the one in the nice packaging sealed. Well as soon as I took it out of the cartridge, I placed the gun on the pack holster and the cord snapped off the proton pack! Unfortunately the consumer service line was already closed at this point so I will have to wait until tomorrow to contact mattel. This sort of lack in quality shouldn't happen on a figure you pay $20+ shipping for in my opinion.

Luckily, I live down the street from where I work. Upon being at my apartment for my lunch break, UPS came by to drop off my figures, which I must say are flawless.

My only gripe is that the packaging for the Ray isn't able to pop back into place like the Egon figure. Oh well. Ray looks pretty bitchin' next to Jerry Only, Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein, and Lon Chaney's “London After Midnight” doll.

No. I've been having a little trouble with the legs on these figures as well.

My 6“ Ray's left leg hooks inward, but it's not noticeable if you spread his legs just a little.

And my 6” Egon is pigeon-toed, which makes it hard for him to stand.

A few small doll stands keep my figures from falling over.(*winston)

Nope. It just gets tucked under the belt like the real life costumes.

Is there any particular type of figure stand that should be used with the 12" guys? I know that most figures don't have as much equipment on them. I'm just too scared to leave this beauty free standing, and then the smallest vibration send him flying. And I'm assuming that any hobby/toy store should selling a stand for this?

Does anyone have a picture of the back of the figures? I'm curious as to how they connected the yellow hose for costume purposes.

I guess this stand could do the trick :

Not a bad price either… About $8 USD with shipping. I might order one or two myself.

Don't bother. I have a few of those and they won't fit around both the proton pack and Ray. Plus they, from my experience, clamp together way too tight risking damage to Ray's pack (conversely the smaller versions of those stands work great on the 6" figures).

There's another model out there that's the same size but the clamp is opened way wider… I picked some up tonight at my local Michael's but I haven't been able to try them out yet (I need to clean them up first).

I'll let you know how they work out, and (if they work) post a pic or two so you know what to look for.(*peter)
