Rain Rain Go Away...

…because you filled my goddamn basement full of water over the weekend.

Almost lost a bunch of artwork and my slime blower project.

Anyone else in the midwest had this problem? Our neighbor said that the houses in this area hadn't been hit this bad with rain since Iowa got hit with the floods back in '93.

It's been pretty bad here in Indiana the last few days too. I haven't had any problems here in Indianapolis, but my uncle in Columbus has to boil his water, and only drive if it's an emergency.

My girlfriend (who is currently in the greater Chicagoland Area) got hit pretty hard lastnight as well. Here in south eastern Tennessee we just got hit about an hour ago for like 30 minutes and then that was it…now you could barely tell it had rained at all.

Apparentkly spoke too soon as it has been raining off and on all day. Everytime you think it was done, it'd start again

Man, we didn't have that much rain. It lasted for about an hour then stopped. But the thunder was killer. The whole room shook whenever everytime it bolted.

I live in SE Iowa, and we've been getting steady rain, but nothing too bad. Sounds like it might be worse up north. Certainly it's nothing like the Flood of ‘93. I live just a few blocks from the Mississippi River, and lemme tell you, that Flood was nightmarish! Entire streets were literally submerged, it was crazy. Anyway, just remember Crimson, if you keep important stuff in the basement, stack it high above the floor, like on tables or whatever. We had basement stuff damaged in the flood, it sucked.

…Really though, its not the rain of late that bothers me, it’s the humidity it causes. A few days ago, the heat index down here was almost 100 degrees!!! Too much for my Norwegian blood….

Actually I heard Iowa City, 1.5 hours north of me, got some pretty bad flooding. They had to evacuate some Art Museums & what not at my University. Sounds like my area really lucked out.

The northeast has been taking it pretty badly. The areas of the NY, NJ & CT tri-state area are with out power and there are many large trees that seem to have fallen on people's houses and cars as well as roads and power lines. Plus the humidity made the temp 90+ the last two days. Thankfully today it was cooler and breezier.

We're having the opposite problem here in the southeast. Lake Lanier, one of the biggest and most important lakes in my home state of Georgia, is down about thirteen feet. That's not as bad as it has been, but it's still pretty awful.

So, if you guys could kinda push your rainclouds a little down and to the right, that would be great :p

Seriously, though, sorry to hear about your basement getting flooded, Crimson! That sucks, man.
