Ha! That reminds me of a Lewis Black bit:

“Being the weather man in San Diego must be the easiest job in the world. ‘What’s the weather like today, Lou?' ‘Uh…Nice. Back to you.’”

The northeast has been taking it pretty badly. The areas of the NY, NJ & CT tri-state area are with out power and there are many large trees that seem to have fallen on people's houses and cars as well as roads and power lines. Plus the humidity made the temp 90+ the last two days. Thankfully today it was cooler and breezier.

There's still 80 000 people without electricity here, more than 24hrs after the incident. My sister is one of them. We saved her food, first time our fridge is full like that. We were very lucky on our side, we're only a couple roads from her. We almost lost the phone when a tree touched the lines. It's more calm now and power should return shortly for her… I hope.

I live in SE Iowa, and we've been getting steady rain, but nothing too bad. Sounds like it might be worse up north. Certainly it's nothing like the Flood of '93.

Cedar Rapids was looking f*cking terrible on the news last night. They evacuated downtown Des Moines and are sandbagging along the side of the river.

Keep dry, matey.
