Rant about the comic (Unwarrented)

Yeah, a death threat is rather extreme, but that is just ONE poster amongst quite a few other legitimate fans who have been either ignored or insulted by others. Telling everyone to be thankful for what they’ve got isn’t very constructive, either. Simply being told to wait and wait and wait isn’t good enough anymore, and people are getting angry.

You know, I think most people would like something in return for their hard-earned cash. When they don’t get it, they get tetchy. I think it’s perfectly understandable, don’t you? Why is that so very difficult for people to understand?

Because technically your cash isn't gone yet.

And just to put things in perspective, I've got 3 copies of the hardcover on order, and one is an overdue gift. Okay? So just chill. All stressing's gonna get ya is an ulcer and gray hair. A watched pot never boils and all that jazz.

ECTO-1
Because technically your cash isn't gone yet.

Of course it’s gone. It’s not in your wallet, and it’s not in your account. You can’t spend it while it’s tied up with a pre-order for a late comic. You only get it back if you cancel, or if you wait and wait and wait…

My order’s over and done with and I’m happy. Unfortunately, there are many others who aren’t because they aren’t getting any answers from those in the know. Stifling their queries with ‘stop stressing about it’, and ‘it’ll come in time’ won’t make much difference to that, I’m afraid. The only thing that’ll satisfy them is a date and the comic, and the only person who can provide those, are Seb.

Stifling their queries…hehe you Brits really do have a classy way of talking. I mean that, not being sarcastic.

Dalboz… relax dude… and patience

I ordered my copy of the hardcover… and will just wait… and if it doesn't come out… well, too bad… at least they tried… but don't forget the important fact that if it wasn't because of 88MPH Studios, there never would have been a Ghostbusters comic book around in year 2000…

Look I've been around a long time and there is something I noticed, This the THE Ghostbusters message board. What this means as these are the most hardcore of the hardcore ok. If anyone so much as hints towards something Ghostbusters we know about it before the end of the day, and if we dont we have a reporter, and a lot of great sites with great connections and great investigators. I can't tell you how many times I've smiled at the news page of Protoncharging, or troy's site when something new is announced. Yet there always seems to be a catch, whatever it is and no matter how grand it may be I'm gonna be waiting like a year for production to start. I've seen the petitions for RGB, I waited for the DVD, I visited the hobby shops to check for the ecto-1, I saw the concept art for the comics the day they hit the net. All of these things have three things in common:

1. I found out about all of these items through the net/boards
a very large amount of time before their releases.

2. They all had complications

3. I have them all now…..

See where this is going?
Look nobody wants a war, It is upsetting that Sebastian isn't being up front with us. But the truth is, we flat out have no idea whats going on. On one hand we do have physical comics in our collections…so scam? Doubt it….its just a compilation of products already produced. Xerox n Stables baby, not even that hard right? Wrong. He could be talking to sony…maybe about a show, maybe about a monthly…How the hell do you know his complications aren't just? Then again how the hell do I? The argument is dead discussion. We'll get it soon enough and if we don't you'll get your money back. This is America the legal cators to sissies.

Complaints aren't so much locked on here. I think it's just when people scream mindless diatribes and threaten lawsuits about an obvious issue. Not saying you are, but that's what either gets blasted or ignored.

I've expressed my discontent several times, and no one's ripped my head off. I've said this a million times before: When Image Comics first started, they weren't that much better. Pitt, Shadowhawk, Cyberforce anyone? But they eventually got the books out, and look at them now. It sucks, but it's “growing pains”. 88MPH's instance is just one of the more extreme cases, it seems.

I do wish Sebastien would come back and post on the boards. He used to be so good about handling issues/concerns, but I can understand why he doesn't. Why come to a place when as soon as you open your mouth, good or bad, he's going to get blasted? He could say the comic's coming out tomorrow, and there would be a legion (no pun intended) who would rip into him for the delays regardless.

Today's the 7th. His site promised some sort of new news by today. The cut-off date for the book is over. I just hope we get the answer we've been waiting for.

Even Ecto-1 said "we're all a little miffed at how this has turned out“. Even the ones who have been criticized for defending 88MPH aren't entirely pleased by the process. But this is a dead subject. There's nothing we can do other than wait or cancel our orders.

I've waited nearly a year with my order. As much as I'd rather not, I'll wait longer until we finally get it. It's frustrating, but this is well into ”dead horse" territory.

I suppose then? Would you guys like the topic locking then?

You guys have been thoughful in your posts, and that goes down well because you're not just an ‘screaming fan’.

Intelligent conversation is more likely to get a positive response then of lawsuits, hate mail and even threats of death.

Thanks for showing that there can be reasonable people out there.

I've worked in the entertainment industry. Delays happen. It makes you more tolerant, because people just want their game/movie/item fix, and don't see what goes on behind the scenes.

I could say “thanks” to you as well, Kingpin. At least you've tried to keep an optimistic attitude about all of this, and present things in a rational perspective.

My impatience comes from anticipation and excitement. I'm just looking forward to filling the space on my bookshelf that I saved for it.

Just as long as we get it before 2006, I'm cool.

God, what is this section of the board going to talk about once the hardcover is released? (*peter)

(Incidentally, I read some of the earlier Dalboz posts… jeez man, quit being a jerk. No one needs to be “killed” over this. I wouldn't listen to your nasty attitude either.)
