I think that the Ghostbusters theme should be rereleased in the charts if Ghostbusters III is made. I think it would really help promote the movie just as it did first time around.

I do however think that Ray Parker Junior should slightly rework it just to bring it up to date. I'm not talking big changes but to just make it sound fresh without spoiling it in any way. There should also be a new pop video made with Ray Parker Junior dancing with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudon. That would be so funny.

That'd be awesome, except that we'd never see the video since no one actually plays videos anymore.

Why should it be reworked? re-recorded maybe to bring the production of the song up to date, but reworked and rearranged? no. the song is a classic and should be presented the way everyone remembers it.

Re-recorded to bring the production up to date? I'm not sure how that's really possible without running the risk of diluting what made it great in the ‘update’.


The song as it is is fine and hardly dated.

I like most of the versions i hear, my favorite being Attaboy Skip's version.

I think they should keep the original for the beginning and end of the film, but for the montage have a new version or Attaboy skips version.

Kind of how they did it for GB2 with Run DMC.

If they were gong “remake” it in anyway, that should be the only reason. Im not agreeing that it should be done, but if it was, then it shouldnt be changed just re-recorded.

It would be very Awesome and very Cool to have RayparkerJr. sing a new song for the GB3 movie because he can redo the song and add some remix and beat up the music with it. In 1984 he wrote a great GB song for the first GB movie and for GB3 he can do the samething. He can beat up the music with new vocols and sing the GB song in a new version. That will be very Cool to hear!
