*Now while I'm not going to give any timetable on this, and also while I'm NOT “competing” with these guys:

I'm “re-instatiting” my “GB Archival Project” …

*I'm currently combing through my hundreds of old back-up copies of my files, and hopefully with the help of LiquidVishin will be able to get this rolling again …

*What I need from you guys is a “complete-as-possible” list of YouTube links of GB Clips , as I've lost track of ALOT of those, and possibly if anyone has the material listed here :

  • The Original Theatrical Trailer
Even though this IS on the DVD, the one on the DVD is NOT in Letterbox and is missing the “Coming Soon to a Theatre Near You” screen at the end.

2]Laserdisc transfer of SFX Museum - Richard Edlund, which is a 60 minute look behind the scenes at Boss Studios containing interviews with the artists involved in ghostbusters and 2010.

    Contains the following chapters:

    - Richard Edlund, Asc - Ivan Reitman - Michael Gross
    - John Bruno
    - Gene Whiteman - Neil Krepela
    - Matthew Yuricich
    - Terry Windell - Gary Waller
    - Stewart Ziff - Steve Johnson - Randall William Cook - Bill Neil
    - Thaine Morris - Mark Stetson
    - Gary Plateck - Mark Vargo
    - Virgil Mirano
    - Syd Mead - George Jenson
Documentary on the special effects on 2010 The Year We Make Contact and Ghostbusters

3]Promo for Ghostbusters than ran on HBO. The Promo is called “on the scene with Ghostbusters”, interveiws with most of the main cast.

4]1999 Sony Publicity demo reel for the original 99 DVD release.

5]Professional taping of the Ghostbusters Spooktacular Universal Florida show dubbed from USF gift shop video.

6]Original Sunday Night at the Movies presentation of the Ghostbusters feature film. Includes all of the alternate takes and dialogue. WITH OPENING ABC Promo/Bumper!!.

7]Weird Al Yankovic inserting himself in the Ray Parkery Jr. “Ghostbusters” music video.

    8]SNL clips .

9]“Pop-Up Video Of Ray Parker Jr.'s ”Ghostbusters“, and GOOD QUALITY version of The Bus Boys ”Cleaning Up The Town".

    10] Any sitcom refrences .

11] UK RGB “Behing The Scenes”.

    *Plus ANYTHING ELSE RARE!!

*And this idea from the other board for GB1 is intresting:

Track Option #1: Isolated Score & Songs Track
This would have featured a recreation of the exact presentation of the score and songs in the film - hideous cuts and tracked music - warts and all.

Track Option #2: Isolated Score & Unused Score
This would have been the same as above, bar the songs. In place of the songs, the unused pieces of score that were supposed to be there would be put back.

Track Option #3: Isolated Score As Intended
This would ignore the edits made to the score and tracked music. It would present the score as it was supposed to be heard.

*And if anyone that won those eBay auctions with the official blueprints from GB1/II and such, could scan them in and send them to me that would be AWESOME…

*If anyone can help e-mail me here or @ “DecrepitMasses.com” with details, and I'll see what we can't work out (*peter)

    *Cheers.

I kept asking over at OriginalTrilogy about this project, but I guess they just lost interest.

I did manage to get myself an original 2 disc Criterion Special Edition of Ghostbusters on Laserdisc just because it deserves to be preserved.

I don't own a Laserdisc player (yet?) if in the near future I do get one then expect some really high quality rips, unless all this material comes out on Blu-Ray disc soon

*BUMP*

*I just finished my first “test” disc…It's pretty much an “amaglam” of all the GB material that I have …I have yet to test it out in eiother of my Dvd players, so wish me luck - This will be the first trial run of what I am trying to accomplish (*peter) …

*The software I used was pretty easy to navagate through, however the actual burning process took a entire DAY & A HALF FOR ONE DISC :-@ …And I didn't “spruce” it up that much as it is a prototype, and I'd hate to think of how long the actual discs will take…And I also noticed that some of my master material has sync problems…However there's not much I can do about that at the present as I'm not set up to transfer VHS to MPEG at the moment (*egon) …

*Keep in mind that this is FAR from finished, and I still ave ALOT to cull-through/find…But I just wanted to drop a line to update the progress on this endeavor (^_^) …

*Cheers.

Great idea naturally and I applaud yours and the others initiative, if they're still working on it or their own versions as well.

I'm almost afraid to ask, how many gigabytes is/was this project taking up on your hard drive(s)? The reason I'm asking is because if its possible, perhaps Ghostbusters International® can host the GB material.

Great idea naturally and I applaud yours and the others initiative, if they're still working on it or their own versions as well.

*The “Original Trilogy” Project is pretty much stalled at the moment, and our own LiquidVishn's project is 100% complete , but as for me I won't be happy until mine is complete and spiffy (*peter) …I don't plan on quitting now, and even if it's only for my own personal enjoyment , I will have the material available for trade, or in some form, as to be available to the GB community at large …I might just make a “master version” of the disc and send it/them to a trustworthy sole to replicate on a STRICLY NON-PROFIT Fan Basis…Haven't decided yet…However the DVD-ROM Disc is going to be the REAL DOOZY to make…

I'm almost afraid to ask, how many gigabytes is/was this project taking up on your hard drive(s)? The reason I'm asking is because if its possible, perhaps Ghostbusters International® can host the GB material.

*It's an option…An estimate would be like a third of my second HD…It's ALOT believe-you-me (*peter) …I'll see how this progesses and get back to you…

*Cheers.

P.s.- The “test disc” worked almost flawlessly…Simple in design, but worth it when I saw the material on a TV screen for the first time, or for the first time in ages…Missed somethings in the “editing” process, some footage is abit “pixely”, and some of the clips cut off a few seconds too soon , but it worked like a charm regardless :-) …

Bump.

Any further news…?

… It's been almost 3 years since a post in this topic… I'd say its safe to say the project is dead or on a very long hiatus. If there had been any news in the past 3 years, I'm sure it would've been posted.
