It's fun to pretend, but don't go overboard, guys. I know you want to make yourselves appear real, but don't fool younger people into believing it completely. That's just not cool. Investigations exist, eliminations DO NOT (If you're not pretending that is).

Dr. Roberts, I think your site and what you “do” is great, I like it, I enjoy it.

But dude, obviously I'm not the real Dr. Spengler because Dr. Spengler is a fictional character.

This is why I post in this section only every once in a while. A lot of people here try to confuse the youngin's, and the newbies, and trying to point out what's what get's you a reply like:

I love the idea of a franchise, and MTGB's is one of my faves, but if I were to start a franchise, I wouldn't take myself too seriously.

Listen…any rube who's stupid enough to think that Ghostbusters is REAL or that “Ghostbusting” equipment is real DESERVES to be fooled.

The MTGB worked hard to make our site look and feel REAL, but anyone who has the good sense God gave the common dog will realize that the MTGB is just a gag! For crying in the mud…read the description of the constuction of our version 1.0 proton packs!

I (and the rest of our “staff”) can't be responsible for every dumb kid who surfs onto our site. For every two idiots who check us out on the web and think we're REAL, there are a hundred who actually READ the text and GET THE JOKE!

I'm sorry if this reply seems a little heavy handed, but we've gotten this sort of thing before and it gets a bit irritating. MTGB was the first franchise out there, and we've worked hard to make it a good site…and I really think you're missing the spirit in which the whole franchise thing is intended.

Of course I KNOW there's not really a Dr. Spengler. Wanna know a little secret? There's not really a Dr. Roberts either! I'm a high school teacher who doesn't believe in ghosts! Wanna know something else? I bet there isn't really a Louis Tully at GBI…
