Real Ghostbusters Score and Soundtrack

Something that has always bugged me was when you check the ending credits it says:
"Original soundtrack album available on Polydor Records Tapes and Compact Disc“

Now I don't know about anyone else but Ive never seen one of these on record, tape or CD. Has anyone?

Now before you all say ”Yes, go to Spookcentral" that seems to be a different one, Tahitis stuff was released by PolyGram. (look in lower right corner of picture)

What I'd like to know is where/what is the POLYDOR one?

Could it be a score or have the long lost John Smith version?

And about that theme, might Shuki Levi or Haim Saban have it?

Considering it stopped being used at the same time as the rest of the Levi music you can bet Levi did it and not DiC, otherwise they woulda been to cheap to pay Chase/Rucker to do another version as well as the new background music.

I wonder if Shuki Levi might be the mysterious John Smith? Anyone know if Levi ever sang anything (I know he didn't for RGB, maybe something else?

Maybe they took the old name. Polydor merged with Phonogram Records to create PolyGram. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polydor)

There's already a thread with an interview of either Haim Saban or Shuki Levi where it's said that none of them has copies of the songs… Can't find it though.

Matthew interviewed Shuki Levi, he said he didn't have the rights, not that he/they didn't have the music.

Bugger about the PolyGram/Polydor thing. Thought I had something there. Still have never seen it on CD or Record though.

The CD and Record bit is probably a blanket statement that they used for soundtrack announcements back then, and not all that accurate a reflection of the actual release of the score.

And had Andreas not already mentioned it, as “Polygram” and “Polydor” were pretty much the same name it would've been pretty likely they'd either renamed themselves or merged.

That's… got nothing to do with what Dr. Stantz was asking about. (*egon)

Well I haven't read anywhere that someone's working on this so I'm point you to thsi thread where I've started to work on the score using the Time Life DVD set Music and Effects tracks. They have all been ripped and posted on Megaupload, links are available from this site.

Here's the latest where I am at right now with the project, anyone wanting to help out is welcome!
RGB Score - Shuki levy close to 50 tracks now
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QLSHP6JV

Also there's 2 errors in the file where clips are 10min long. They just didn't get cut properly. I've uploaded the best edited and dehissed main title here.

Thanks for those files… they'll definitely be of help in the project, once I get back into it.
