Hi all
I have a full size ECTO I built.
Picture at http://www.costumecostumecostume.com/Ghost1.jpg
Recently it was pretty badly vanalized.
I was wondering if anybody had any ideas about How I could raise the $4000 to $5000 to repair it and get it back on the road. I have a couple of ideas, but I want to see what anybody else might be able to come up with.

Wasn't able to find the ECTO pic, but if you're the bearded guy in the gb suit hangin' with Santa…then I think I've seen your wheels on ASAP.

If that's the one, then your ECTO-1 is a sweet looking ride. I can't believe someone vandalized it! Is it body damage, paint damage?

As far as ideas for raising the dough for repairs…check around to local places that rent out costumed “look-alike” characters for kids b-day parties. The work is fun, the tips are generally great, and they might even have a need for a GB with his own costume and (damaged) ECTO-1…you could always tell the kids it was damaged by some not-so-friendly gremlins! wink

AND…my wife (the lovely Mrs. Roberts) just mentioned to me that if you're a home-owner and the ECTO was vandalized on your property…your home-owners' insurance ought to take care of the cost of repairs.

Dont let this hit you too hard there bud, i know that its feels impossible but it really isnt that big of deal. when you take a vehical and “”Invest“” alot of money into it and somebody toasts it - its ok(speaking from Direct Experience). keep the ol' girl, take some time and build her back up even better than before. but it'll cost ya. unfortuneately. but just keep this in mind: how did you feel when you stood back to look at her when she was completed? how did she look? and how good did you feel when she was completed? tarnish the anger and disteress & simply just start over. I restored my first car, a baby blue thoughout ford ltd.2 2 door, she was a wonder to ride, then about 10 jerk-off's totaled the whole thing. so I just started over, and i won 5th place in a local car show, i recived nothing much as a prize but none the less she Was my baby & I proved it not only to the city, but myself as well. those days have past. for me, its not too late for you. she'll be worthy to drive once again, soon. just use your heart and you'll be fine. and even if you do catch the buggers who did it, it wont change a thing. you Ecto was still toasted. as i said pour your heart into her once again it'll be ok & its never too late to start over.smile if you wouldnt mind - could I have a pic of the hurtin' girl for ECTO-135's January Edition? it'll be the months special dedicated to the partial loss of possibly one of the finest Ecto's ever built. Email me @ back.kd@3web.net we'll talk. thanks & good luck guy.

As for my ideas:
Have a MAJOR yard sale, or, if you have anything worth great value that you don't mind parting with, sell it.
But nothing beats Mrs. Roberts' home owner's insurance suggestion. smile

Hmmm, not sure. But your Ecto 1 is awesome. Me and my friends would like to build one but we can't find one of those old caddilac ambulences anywhere. Do you know anyone/place that has em.

Most of what is needed is tires, Windows and engine work. the cosmetic stuff will be pretty easy. I will have trouble finding the two regulators for the ox tanks. I had one of them and it was stolen. it was exact too I have some prop maker friends that are going to help with the roof rack restoration, so it should be even better this time smile
