I remember watching a primetime RGB show once as a child. I think it may have been a Halloween special. I remember Louis Tully so it must be post GB2. Does anyone remember it and is it included in the dvds? Were there any other primetime specials?

As far as Halloween is concerned the only RGB episodes, primetime or not, that I remember were “When Halloween Was Forever”, “Halloween II 1/2” and “The Halloween Door”. The last two were the worst in my opinion with the very last one presenting a contradictory origin for Halloween to the already established origin presented earlier in the series…and having the Junior Ghostbusters in it as well…::shudder::

I believe “The Halloween Door” was aired as a Prime-Time special in its original airing. Though I do not believe Louis was in it (don't remember really) I believe it DID air after the premiere of GB2

Ya, I was placing my money on “The Halloween Door” but I do not remember off hand the specifics of the episode other than basic plot…I will have to watch it when I get home.

To answer his second question: Yes “The Halloween Door” was included in the Time Life Complete Series Boxset

The only terrible thing about Halloween 2 1/2 was the presence of the Junior Ghostbusters. Otherwise it was a pretty good story, as was The Halloween Door which was a Straczynski episode if I remember correctly.

Didn't seem to contradict it to me, it didn't say that Boogaloo was the spiritual embodiment of Halloween.

I guess I should have worded it better:

I thought the latter two “Halloween episodes” of RGB were not as good as, in comparison to, “When Halloween was Forever”…but I thought the “Samhain arc” of “When Halloween was Forever” and “Halloween II 1/2” were far better together than “The Halloween Door” if that makes sense?

I think my dislike of “The Halloween Door” comes from my dislike of Boogaloo and the Scrooge-esque character of Dr. Crowley. And I also wasn't a big fan of the “Halloween stage show” in that episode either..

Watching the Halloween door on DVD brought back a lot of memories.

For me it was one of the last fun episodes of a series that was already on the decline at that point.
