just got to Knock KNOCK on my dvd set and noticed straight away that the music in the scene when they're on the train in has been completely changed from what's on my old VHS version.
This is very annoying, i really like the original track and associate it with this scene.
have any other episodes been altered in this way?

Memory serves (so take this as is) that two episodes don't feature the Tahiti tracks which originally appeared in them, one being Knock Knock, the other presently escapes me.

This likely has something to do with the episode copies Time Life had access to… it either being the case that the only copies of the episodes they had featured the replacement music, or the copies they chose were better visual and audio quality, but featured the changed background music.

The VHS version is version 2 not 1. For the VHS releases four episodes had music changed to include Tahiti tracks (“Knock, Knock”, “Fright at the Opera”, “Bird of Kildarby” and “Venkman's Ghost Repellers”). With the exception of “Knock, Knock”, which was edited to be a few seconds longer to better accommodate the music, they could have put both audio tracks on the DVDs but they didn't bother. “Knock, Knock” and “Venkman's ghost repellers” use the original version, “Fright at the Opera” and “Bird of Kildarby” use the VHS version, although “Bird of Kildarby” on the older DVD had the original.

The video quality for “Fright at the Opera” was pathetic. They would have gotten a cleaner copy using a VHS copy that was released vs the modified “master” copy.

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.

I watched Venkman's Ghost Repellers a couple of nights ago and noticed the changes there. It doesn't suffer as much as Knock, Knock, and frankly ‘Hometown Hero’ was a little out of place, evan although the son'gs mood fitted the action.

Knock Knock is defiantely better with the Tahiti track.

I'm just glad that I still have my old Magic Window VHS releases of both episodes

Wait, didn't the Knock Knock videocassette feature the song “The Boogeyman”? I didn't think that fit at all; I preferred the music that originally played in the episode.

“The Boogieman” was the music that played in the original version of Knock Knock.
