If the Scooby Doo film is a hit then maybe it will set that Paranormal/Comedy Genre again.Which people might find refreashing and the movie studios might go ahead and do gb3

also keep an eye on my web page for part of a script i'm writeing in which i did a segment called Vampirebusters

It's an interesting thought, though Scooby Doo is a bit of a risk. We'll have to see how people react to a computer generated dog. It could sour people to scary-comedies.

Another question is how will they treat the ghosts in the movie? Are they “real” or are they people in masks? That will also influence people.

Just FYI Robert, when you post to the boards, if you have any problems, or even just as a general precaution, have a looksee. That way you'll notice if you've accidentally posted multiple times.

Hm, they'll probably make the ghosts look real, like they do in the cartoon, but also like the original cartoon, the ghost will always be some fake illusion created by the real, human pepetrator.

I dont know, I mean, i like the classic series, but i`ve seen a couple of pics of the movie, and let me say they were baaaaaaaaad, I thogut it was going to be a little more real, but the gang costumes were too much like the cartoons, and in real life, it looked like $"/t….

Apparently the pics you're talking about, with the gang dressed up in their cartoon style outfits, is a joke dream or flashback in the movie, not the way they actually dress for the entire movie.

OKay, i got this from a critic who has actually read the script. The ghosts are REAL, but the gang thinks that they are just the normal guys in a costume routine. (they gang is in they're mid-20s when they “re-group” and they are famous for their anti-hoaxing). The director said that the ghosts are gonna be “ghostbuster style” and the critic who read the script said it was a cross between “blade” and “ghostbusters”.

Blade and Ghostbusters… what a tasty combo! I like it already!

although, still, it sounds kinda cheesy doing a live action version of Scooby Doo. i keep thinking theyre going to butcher it, like they have with so many TV-to-Movie senarios.

taking a movie and turning it into a TV show or cartoon (if it has a continuous idea *HINT HINT* GB1 to RGB) thats one thing, but it doesnt work the other way around. i mean, look at the Flintstones movie… Slice-n-Dice.

Some shows you can get away with, Like TMNT. they put it in such a way, where you can imagen it being a different beginning for the whole story.

now, heres a good example of a on-running idea. Ghostbusters is the best one. you have a group of guys that hunt ghosts. Ghosts are lost souls of dead people. people die every day. Proton packs have a half-life of 5 millionums. art of Ghostbusting can be passed on to a new generation. there is an on-running idea.

off-running-but-try-to-on-run ideas are all over the place. Back To The Future goes under here. 3 movies on a DeLorean Time Machine. Time Machine gets destroyed in the end of 3rd movie. cartoon comes out, with DeLorean rebuild without explanation. I dont think you could do much more with that idea. dont get me wrong, i loved the movies (except #3, because of the DeLorean)

sorry, those last 2 were Movie-to-TV examples. all im saying is, some things were not ment to be made into movies if they surround a particular detail such as characters. Scooby Doo is mostly about character and plot idea details.

everyone knows that people wouldnt dress up as ghosts, and scare people. the modern-day moron knows the difference between a bedsheet, and a ball of ectoplasm anyway.

ok, i realize i wrote more than my fair share of board space for this reply. ill stop typing… now. no, now. sorry, just had to piss you off some more. smile

Blade? That sounds a little too action-oriented for a movie based on the good-natured slapstick comedy of the original toon.

Hehe, I can see where the confusion of “Blade” fits in. Here is what I meant to say: The ghosts in the scooby doo movie are “ghostbuster style” and the CLIMAX of the movie is a cross between “Blade” and “Ghostbusters”. Which probably means 1 giant menacing ghost or entity that needs to be destroyed to save the world. Either that, or the Mystery Inc. group gets chants from the crowd as they enter Spooky Island smile (I seriously doubt that). But when was the last time we seen a ghost “ghostbuster style”? Excluding “Casper” smile I think I'll go see it just because theres ghostbuster elements (Evolution was a bit stale..but come on, its Scooby Doo, lol).
