Blade and Ghostbusters… what a tasty combo! I like it already!
although, still, it sounds kinda cheesy doing a live action version of Scooby Doo. i keep thinking theyre going to butcher it, like they have with so many TV-to-Movie senarios.
taking a movie and turning it into a TV show or cartoon (if it has a continuous idea *HINT HINT* GB1 to RGB) thats one thing, but it doesnt work the other way around. i mean, look at the Flintstones movie… Slice-n-Dice.
Some shows you can get away with, Like TMNT. they put it in such a way, where you can imagen it being a different beginning for the whole story.
now, heres a good example of a on-running idea. Ghostbusters is the best one. you have a group of guys that hunt ghosts. Ghosts are lost souls of dead people. people die every day. Proton packs have a half-life of 5 millionums. art of Ghostbusting can be passed on to a new generation. there is an on-running idea.
off-running-but-try-to-on-run ideas are all over the place. Back To The Future goes under here. 3 movies on a DeLorean Time Machine. Time Machine gets destroyed in the end of 3rd movie. cartoon comes out, with DeLorean rebuild without explanation. I dont think you could do much more with that idea. dont get me wrong, i loved the movies (except #3, because of the DeLorean)
sorry, those last 2 were Movie-to-TV examples. all im saying is, some things were not ment to be made into movies if they surround a particular detail such as characters. Scooby Doo is mostly about character and plot idea details.
everyone knows that people wouldnt dress up as ghosts, and scare people. the modern-day moron knows the difference between a bedsheet, and a ball of ectoplasm anyway.
ok, i realize i wrote more than my fair share of board space for this reply. ill stop typing… now. no, now. sorry, just had to piss you off some more.
