I was listening to 104.1 on the radio and they asked a question about “What do these three things have in common?”
The answer was Bill Murray, but they mentioned Ghostbusters.
They named Peter Venkman, but instead of calling saying “Peter Venkman” they called him “Phil Venkman.”
I wanted to slap the people on the radio station.
Anyone else run across things like this?

People get their facts wrong all the time, just last night there was an article on the 80th Anniversary of Popeye, and the commentator said his nemesis was “Brutus”, referencing a character who existed for a bit more than two years thanks to sloppy legal work and was for all intents and purposes, Bluto.
The Straight Dope Is Popeye's nemesis named Bluto or Brutus?

Phil Venkman? Really? That is just someone to lazy to not do research.

Considering how many article writers miss out the first ‘y’ in “Aykroyd”, it apparently it is widespread.

I'll even accept Dave Aykroyd as a mistake.

I on the other hand, couldn't really be bothered.
It'd matter if it were an official press release, but then we'd know they wouldn't screw it up… but some radio show I never listen too isn't gonna haunt my dreams for messing up Peter's name. :p
